Just saw this. If you saw my impression that they might be embarrassed as "denigrating" ok. That's on you. Again, I've been alive for 40+ years and seen this kind of thing play out too many times.
When Cole Pittman died, we knew what happened. When Ced died, we knew what happened. When Haruka Weiser died, we knew what happened, when Jennifer Cave died, we knew what happened, when Nicky Cumberland died, we knew what happened, when Farhan and Tanvir Towhid died, we knew what happened...
And there are more, and their causes of death were all released. All of these deaths are tragic and horrible and may God rest their souls. There is no death voyeurism or denigration involved with any of these situations.
My commenting that the family may be embarrassed by his passing is based on everything we know, and don't know, and the vitriolic verbal attacks on those of us who have asked if there was any official cause of death released, because, there almost always is regardless of whether it's murder, suicide, alcohol or drug related or otherwise. The fact that there is an overt attempt to quash anyone who dares wonder aloud what befell one of our student athletes doesn't make it a stretch to comment that the family might be embarrassed.
I asked a simple question that could have been easily answered in one sentence without being verbally attacked, and there are those who are still trying to paint me as vile for it. Enough.
