Riots in Minneapolis

This is the author of the book defending looting - Vicky Osterweil.

I get the sense that "she" looks more like us below the waist than like most people named Vicky.

Apparently irony is lost on Vicky

And this wasn't just a generic vile statement. She was talking about harming/killing a specific child. She may have bought herself a lot more trouble than she realized... The only thing going for her is that she expressed what her feelings were in the past, rather than a concrete plan to harm that child in the (near) future.

Technicalities aside, I wouldn't want her working for me, living near me, or being around children, that's for sure.

That was an AWFUL VILE post, but I'm tapping the brakes on whether this is the same "Mariah Bock" that works at Target. Look closely. Does anyone else see a Caucasian-looking young woman in the top picture and an Asian-looking young woman in the bottom picture-- both "Mariah Bock"...

The vile poster bears accountability, but hold off on the angry mob with pitchforks going for a "Mariah Bock" who works at Target.

Good point, and she should be able to clear it up easily if so.

BUT...what is the likelihood of there being two people with THAT name in the same metropolitan area? It is not exactly Jane Smith...
I agree, just also agreeing it's possible. Had a flight attendant last week who looks totally different when she took her mask off. So, even though Chop has a good point it could easily be the same person just because of that.

What a novel idea
Consequences for crime

Florida's DeSantis on his Law & Order position

"You loot, you're going to jail."

"You throw a brick at a police officer, you're going to jail."

"You tear down a monument, you're going to jail."

"If you block traffic or harass people, you're going to jail."

DeSantis is well positioned for a run in 2024.

With a Trump win this year, he can use Trumps support in the nomination run. With a Trump loss, he can use the push back against Democrat over reach in 2021 and 22 for his re-election run in 22, then ride a big win there to the 24 race. Governor of the 3rd most populated state, and a swing state, is a good jump off point for the Presidency.

Maybe...was he a Community Organizer? Or a Senator from a totally corrupt city....er, sate?

Trump campaign has been playing YMCA by the Village People at the end of his rallies. I think he is trolling the rioters:

Young man, there's no need to feel down
I said, young man, pick yourself off the ground
I said, young man, 'cause you're in a new town
There's no need to be unhappy
Young man, there's a place you can go
I said, young man, when you're short on your dough
You can stay there, and I'm sure you will find
Many ways to have a good time
It's fun to stay at the YMCA
It's fun to stay at the YMCA
They have everything for you men to enjoy
You can hang out with all the boys
It's fun to stay at the YMCA
It's fun to stay at the YMCA
You can get yourself clean, you can have a good meal
You can do what ever you feel
Young man, are you listening to me?
I said, young man, what do you want to be?
I said, young man, you can make real your dreams
But you got to know this one thing
No man does it all by himself
I said, young man, put your pride on the shelf

And just go there, to the YMCA
I'm sure they can help you today
It's fun to stay at the YMCA
It's fun to stay at the YMCA
They have everything for you men to enjoy
You can hang out with all the boys
It's fun to stay at the YMCA
It's fun to stay at the YMCA
You can get yourself clean, you can have a good meal
You can do what ever you feel
Young man, I was once in your shoes
I said, I was down and out with the blues
I felt no man cared if I were alive
I felt the whole world was so tight
That's when someone came up to me
And said, young man, take a walk up the street
There's a place there called the YMCA
They can start you back on your way

It's fun to stay at the YMCA
It's fun to stay at the YMCA
They have everything for you men to enjoy
You can hang out with all the boys
YMCA, it's fun to stay at the YMCA
Young man, young man, there's no need to feel down
Young man, young man, pick yourself off the ground
YMCA, it's fun to stay at the YMCA
Young man, young man, are you listening to me
Young man, young man, what do you wanna be?
YMCA, you'll find it at the YMCA
No man, young man, does it all by himself
Young man, young man, put your pride on the shelf
YMCA, and just go to the YMCA
Young man, young man I was once in your shoes
Young man, young man I was down with the blues, YMCA
