I’ve watched a lot of Japanese programming in recent years, and a recurring plot line is a school that is being forced to close, but a group of kids on a sports team, academic competition group, singing idol group or whatever, has to succeed to save the school. So, when I saw this story, I immediately thought it should be a movie.

I'm very glad that we are playing all actual teams.

That being said, the goober gauntlet of Arkansas, OU, and A&M is really offputting. I remember the parades of she hicks and yokels, storm trooper jungend and Bund Deutcher Madel that would troop into DKR when the piggies and ags would visit in the SWC days. People wearing pig hats and a band that only knew how to play the main theme from "Patton".

I'm old now. I'm not sure I can cope with those horrors again.
