President Biden Accountability Thread

I wonder if Noonan mentions BJ’s

Of course she doesn’t. Some of the comments on the WSJ online:

Peggy: She can't be serious. The Leopard doesn't change spots. Her only talent has been the ability to do a Lewinsky to powerful male politicians

The CEOs of Hoover, Electrolux and Dyson would challenge you on the lack of ability observation

From OAN:

On Friday, South Carolina Sen. Graham broke down the numbers citing the much anticipated Congressional Budget Office (CBO) report released moments before. The report revealed the spending proposal actually costs nearly $5 trillion, which is $3 trillion more than what Democrats repeatedly promised.

The CBO added this would increase the budget deficit by $3 trillion over the next ten years.

I thought uncle Joe said it was not going to cost anything, zero, nada.

I see that the Dems are already claiming the CBO is a fake number because it presumes the programs will become permanent.

Umm...help me out here. When was the last time the Dems voted to remove and end a social program?

Of course, if we had a serious media, every Democrat who raises this point would immediately be asked, "are you now committing that you'll vote to end these programs after X number of years."

Wow
Elon makes too much sense. He is Not in favor of the gov't building charging stations and subsidies in general.
Dems hate him.

Thanks for that clip

Elon Musk said something like "we should let people who have demonstrated success in allocating capital to allocate capital to the most beneficial uses, not the government which is essentially the biggest corporation that has a monopoly on violence and no accountability."

He's based now. Need to base Bezos and Dorsey next. Dorsey is close.

Great quote and the magic of the free market and capitalism.

I like what Musk says, and he's right about infrastructure - both where we need improvement and that the bill sucks. However, hasn't he gotten quite a bit of corporate welfare through the EV and space businesses?

He has. But I don't turn down free food or beer either.

Wouldn't he argue (correctly) that he has spent that money more effectively and efficiently than the government would had they been pursuing the same type of tech advances themselves?

I'm sure he would, and he'd be right. However, anyone can make that argument. Being more prudent and more efficient than the government isn't a very high standard.

The downward slide for Joe continues - Biden approval rating at historic low in NPR/PBS NewsHour/Marist poll (yahoo.com). His ineffectiveness is combining with current events to put him in a very bad light - and with Manchin essentially killing BBB, Joe could use some good news. Hard to see where any good news could come from for Joe. If this continues, it will be a Red tidal wave in the mid-term election.
Maybe they can get him in a pool and let little kids brush the hair on his legs. That would be good news for him.

Manchin said Biden's staff went after him to pressure a Yes vote in many ways, some nasty in nature. Not a smart way to influence Manchin, and Manchin stated Biden's talks with Manchin were far more civil than what his staff performed. Also illustrates Biden is just a puppet. His "people" are running the show

Yep. Biden was a colleague of Manchin's and an expert schmoozer on Capitol Hill. He probably was a lot more civil. However, people like Ron Klain seem to be making the big decisions, and they seem to think (1) that Biden had a massive mandate beyond just not being Donald Trump and (2) that Joe Manchin needs the Democratic Party more than it needs him. They are spectacularly wrong on both counts. In reality Biden has virtually no policy mandate at all, and Manchin has nothing to gain by supporting anything with Biden's name on it.
