Not asking you to be ashamed of that but also recognize it shapes your desire for government intervention and runs directly counter to your espoused libertarian claims.
No it doesn't. Public schools are government, therefore writing more laws to determine how they operate is on the table. The libertarian position is that individual (ie parents) get to affect how the government schools teach our kids. Period.
That ship has sailed. Society long ago abdicated parental responsibility in many instances to schools, sadly. Discipline, home economics, sexual education are all areas where schools have become the backstop to train our children. Not saying it's right but rather its the way it is.
Anything done can be undone. You are witnessing a little bit, just a little bit of parents taking that back. Plus millions more are in home school and private schools now. So no, the ship hasn't sailed.
My bias is shaped from being married to a teacher, my own children and my own experiences. I also have a personal philosophy of assuming positive intent until proven otherwise. Using charged language like "grooming" for teachers that are simply trying to do the job to the best of their ability and clearly not trying to turn any child "gay" is an abhorrent abuse of language.
Most of my aunts, uncles, and cousins are or have been teachers. So I do have sympathies for teachers.
The law isn't intended to stop teachers doing their job. The law is intended to protect child groomers.
