Only 5 goddam players stayed in the field for the Eyes

UT continues to poke a stick in the eyes of their alumni and fans. Expect fundraising to fall off a cliff and for good reason. As Deez song others have pointed out, it’s stupid to donate to state funded entities.

if we keep talking pure football they're going to make us move this thread back to On The Field.....

I'll fix it....

stupid TH, throw fans under the bus, give air to the ridiculous demands by pampered athletes, contributed substantially to this crapfest around The Eyes.

There back on track.

deep in my heart I don't believe the administration is capable of bringing in anyone better than Herman.
I agree with this sentiment. This administration will just money whip the next up and coming "hot" commodity, and we will watch as he flounders trying to learn on the job.

Keep the one who has spent the last couple of years learning for a little longer.

I hear on the forum formerly known as “On the Field” there is a new contender throwing his hat into the ring. Sheet - what a West Mall thread title.

Wonder how much the girl that tracks Patterson up and down the sideline makes. That was the funniest thing I saw. She literally paces with him every pace, back and forth, to hand him his water bottle and towel. Quite amusing once I caught it, then realized what she was doing when they constantly showed him on the sidelines.

Herman checked all the boxes ; had success at other schools including as head coach, courted by other schools, young and had been at Texas.
Hiring him was imo a no brainer.
The shocker is his failure.

Bitching on here does no good. You gotta ***** to CDC and rest of the administration. You have to cancel your donations. You have to turn off the pretenders until the REAL TEXAS LONGHORNS return.

This is going to end up with that stupid "rededicate" approach to "The Eyes". It won't get rid of the "The Eyes" but it will forever tarnish it by accepting this idiocy that it was ever racist. Our university is run by clowns.

What a bunch of horse ****

Making the 2-1/2 hour drive to Caddo Lake Saturday morning. Going sight seeing and ready for a big hamburger at Fugler's. No interest in the football program, and they'll have to really work their *** off to get me back.

I can't find it in me to attach myself to another football program, being an Ex. My alma mater doesn't have a football program. Come spring I may go to some TCU ballgames instead of going to The Disch. I love our baseball program but our athletic department's complete blow job on 18 year olds has turned me off. The adults have caved in to children with unreasonable demands

Yep. I won't be watching this weekend for the first time ever when something like my job isn't preventing me from doing so.

My question is if the report on the Eyes is a 1619 type of result or are they going to use real historians to provide context.

I'm going in to work. If I don't have much work I may log in to my streaming to to catch a glimpse, if at all. I never dreamed I would be so apathetic to Texas Football, but that's where this team's underachieving performances and virtue signaling has taken me.

D, are you familiar with Ruth Lake CC right across the street from me? My member neighbor texted last night and invited me to play Saturday at 10:30. I didn't even hesitate to accept. Years past, that would have been unthinkable.

Good for you, take advantage of it.

I find myself hoping for a way that both OU and Herman lose. Maybe UT can win the game but have another pampered player openly quit on the field. One can only hope.

"Context" = tearing down, watering down, and diminishing tradition. The UT admin has specialized in this for the past several years.

And now we're seeing the first fruits of their policies. Namely: An alienated and divided fan base, student athletes who hate the University, a football coach who actively pits the players against the fans, a football coach who blames the fans for all the social ills of our society, and a growing list of Alums who are pulling the Ripcord before the plane crashes into the mountain. And that's just for starters!

Anyone with objectivity can see the administration is running the University into the ground. Unfortunately, egghead theorists and mindless bureaucrats are the last people on the planet to understand/utilize objectivity.

Their "remedy" for the current problems will be to commit to MORE of the problem-causing behavior: More "wokeness" from the admin, faculty, and athletic departments. More insinuations that the University is "guilty" of all sorts of evil, hurtful, wicked behaviors in the past, more accusations that UT fans are somehow to blame for social ills, and more "context" to "fix" the "troublesome" traditions of the 40 acres.

Sad to say, but it's going to get worse before it gets better. Institutions of this size are never nimble or adaptive. To put it bluntly: it's going to have to crash before the alums and citizens of Texas can put it back together again.

The good news is that when it crashes, the alums and true fans of the University will be there to pick up the pieces. Like a parent who's tried everything to reign in an unruly child, sometimes you just have to let them hit rock bottom before they will accept your help.

Not football, but my 10 year old has the volleyball game on. Players wearing BLM shirts. LHN talking about all that ********.

Screw them and LHN and UT for that matter. I hope they lose and I won't be pulling for texas tomorrow in the Cotton Bowl. I won't be watching, but if they lose that's fine. That crap *** coach needs to go and take his coddling of these crappy players with him.

I have a 10am tee time which will likely be cancelled due to storms. I won’t watch TX-OU for the first time in my life. I guess I should be happy at this point. I always like when OU loses, but if they win tomorrow Texas is one step closer to losing Mensa. If OU wins, I hope it is a blowout.

I will be driving at the start of the game. I will want to keep track of it. But my interest for Texas/OU is at an all time low.

Stopped in marshall for gas an hour ago, go inside for a coke. We see the game on tv in the store, wife says "hey you're missing your big game today?" (She's not a cfb fan). I said "well, I wouldn't say I'm 'missing' it "
