NHL Playoffs thread

i grew my hockey mullet at the second intermission to make that call for sure....

seriously, even though we lost, i feel sooo much better now with the outcome knowing that the "post first two opening round games" spark was finally lit. this is, after all, the defending cup champs so you know they're going to not sit back and take the beating. Our response to their "vengence" was more than adequate IMO. thursday's game will not be for the faint of heart...

What a first period for game 5! This is some badass playoff hockey. As much as game 4 was about defense this one is wide open except the goalies are unreal. Score should be 3-3 or 3-2 not 1-1 after 1.

Our defense is too damn pourous tonight! That plus the 2 very weak penalty calls to make it 5-3... wow. I can't wait to get the Ducks back in Dallas. I hope we dismember them. I hate the Avs more than any other team, but my hatred for the Ducks is growing rapidly.
 
damn nice comeback tonight. Came out for the 3rd w/ urgency and knocked the ducks on their heels. Way to take care of business.

just got back from the Stars-Ducks game...holy crap that was amazing...i have never heard that place get that loud before...my ears are still ringing and i have no voice...

DMN sez that if Calgary wins, Dallas opens with Colorado at home on Saturday, else game 1 in San Jose on Thursday.

was there as well. crowd was actually pretty lame when we were losing in the second period. third period was awesome. reminded me of all 3 periods of game 6 against vancouver las year....
 
Yeah, the enthusiasm will come now since we have finally managed to win a playoff series.

So, we'll know our opponent tomorrow night. It'll either be Colorado (fingers crossed) or San Jose. We actually split the series with both clubs. However, of the 4 games we lost to the Sharks, two were overtime losses. Should be a fun series either way.

Again, I'm just damn happy we made it to round 2!

And Turks, keep up the stellar work!

I'm assuming Boucher's out for the series since Tippett won't say anything about him--even though he's been saying Zubov was day-to-day for the past month. Interesting to see whether he goes with 7 dmen or sits Fistric down when/if Zubov is ready.
 
Fistric has played very well. It'd be a shame to have to bench him. But he's definitely made a spot for himself on a roster somewhere next season.
 
Man, if the last game between these two clubs is any indication of what we'll get tonight, it should be interesting. Here's hoping for a Stars victory. I'd love to steal one in their house.
 
Just watching the end of the Rangers game. Crazy.

Funny feelings . I wanted the Rangers to tie it up (Rangers are now my 2nd team since living up here) but that would mean over time and we'd miss the start of the Stars.

Stars v Rangers in the cup and I'm a pig in ****. If it's Philly v Stars, I guess I'll have to make a road trip

I'm always shocked how many stars fans are NY when they come up to play one of the three teams here.
