Liverpool FC 2008 - 09 Season Thread

Another stunning late winner (after playing like **** in the first half). Wigan are greatly improved.

Next sunday is 1a v 1b (tied at top of table on points). COME ON YOU REDS!

Am I the only one who yelled out something LFC related when Hicks was announced at the UT game Saturday?

Zaki's second goal was ridiculous.

I'm not gonna lie, I thought to myself, "you bastard" when Hicks was introduced on Saturday.

I'm thinking about going to Fado for the game Saturday. YNWA

What a crappy game today. It was pretty clear both sides came out content to get a point.

BTW, the CSKA London match is SUNDAY morning, and, yes, there should be a good size gathering at Fado's

Oh wow, thanks for telling me. My Chelski friend that i am going to watch the game with kept telling me it was Saturday

That was disappointing to see the late break down at the back. Not sure why Carra let it bounce around so much and Arbeloa left the backside open for Simao. Oh well, not terribly hurt by the draw

Here's to full health for Torres against Chelsea

very nice weekend

Awesome. You can watch soccer a long, long time and not see a centerback play a better game than Carra did today. He was immense.

Agger was also quite good. Easily his best performance of the season. Seems to be rounding into form.

I'm starting to believe - "We're Gonna Win the League!"

great win for you guys!

I REALLY thought Chelsea would be able to get an equalizer, they had the run of play in the first half easily.

Good job stopping the streak at Stamford Bridge!

Facing a resurgent Tottenham squad at the Lane this weekend. Torres should be fit again, so we got that going for us. Don't know if Keano will feature, but you'd have to think that if he's fit he will want to get an appearance against his old club.

Let's keep it up. We've usually dropped points by now and are playing catch up, and this is the time of the season that we rattle off 7-10 in a row, so let's hope we can do that this year.

That was tough to watch. We should have had three or four goals by the time Tottenham finally equalised.

Hopefully Torres is fit for Atleti and beyond

The referee today was a Swedish firefighter and it definitely showed. Played well enough for the point but the PK to Gerrard was a total gift. Either way the match isn't terribly important. Looked like Agger dislocated a finger. Hopefully Torres will make fit again soon.

Does anyone know when Skrtel is expected back? That Agger injury could be a big one. Hyypia might be starting for a while

That penalty was questionable but i'll take it

Liverpool 4 0 West Brom. let's get the EPL campaign back on track

great game today sees Keane finally net a premier league goal (twice!) this season. Mascherano is a beast. Torres got in at the end and looked fit.

I've read that Keane, Gerrard, Carra, Kuyt and Xabi will all sit out tomorrow at White Hart Lane for the Carling cup match, possibly joined by Reina, Agger and Riera

I'd like to see...

Diego
Arbeloa Hyypia Agger Dossena

Pennant Lucas Plessis Yossi/El Zhar

Torres Babel

Bring on Ngog at the half or shortly after for Torres. I think a start will be good for el Nino but definitely a full 90 mins

Good luck 'Pool - we will be sitting Ledly and Pavs and Corluka are cup-tied so we will likely start Frasier Campbell.

Game is ona at 330 AM tho so I will watch the replay

looks like pavluchenko wasn't cup tied. you liar

oh well, i'm glad we got some guys rested for prem and champs games coming up

glad to be out of carling cup tbh. It's much more important to a team like Spurs who are looking to get a free qualification for UEFA Cup.

definitely - wish Man U had lost.

Yes, i forgot the domestic vs UEFA cup tie thing.

I agree, better for you to be out - you have bigger fish to fry.

I agree. Two straight 0-0 home draws to fulham and west ham are tough to swallow. Could be up by 5 points right now. Oh well. Let's hold on to that lead
