I'm not surprised at all that we lost this game. LSU has tremendous athletes, pride, will and Burrow had an incredible game. As for the blitz on 3rd and 17, maybe they had no confidence in the secondary and hoped for a sack or something.

I get the impatience. It's been years since Colt was here. This program has every advantage and yet remains in a "next year" type hole. It is quite possible that next year is truly and rationally the year the program can become a top ten year after year reload type program. LSU recruits great athletes from their home state every year. They will always be a tough out (except for Alabama).

We did not get blown out. We could have won this game give or take a couple of plays. There isn't one team on the remaining schedule that I see as a sure loss. But can we run the table? Very doubtful. Yet we have enough very good players that we could potentially get hot and stay hot. I'm on board with it.

How many qb will we face this year that are having an all world game? He threw an incredible number of passes with our defense just inches away. Defensive mistakes yes. Coaching mistakes yes. Another performance like that is not likely in my humble opinion.

Our young corners got exposed that basically sums it up for me

That is the one thing that stood out the most to me as well. They were not even close half the time. It seemed like we were in man on the outside but mixed in zone in the middle. With at least one hole in coverage every play which their QB scanned and found and then accurately delivered the ball to.
Maybe the still shot/gif Xs and Os guys can explain it better over the next couple days

How do teams like LSU and others constantly reload with a new coach?

My feeling is this; the state of Louisiana is a hotbed of football with very loyal high school players and coaches. Texas has much more competition for players. As for the coaching, who knows. LSU supposedly wanted Herman. Orgeron was not very sexy as Plan B but he appears to be as committed to winning as any coach I've ever witnessed. Burrows landed in their lap after sitting for three years at Ohio State. He's mature and you can't coach those tight spirals. Was it an out of body experience or is he really that good. OU seems to win with a mercenary at QB every year. It is puzzling sometimes.

I like Sam. I like our team. I like Herman. We just have to get that much better.

Shouldn’t fall more then a few spots in polls. 12th perhaps.

Why is 1 on the field? He does nothing to contribute.

16 needs many more touches.

9 was disappointing tonight

Use the TE over the middle more.

They never hit rock bottom. Always had incredible talent and competent if unimaginative coaching. Now the have terrific, creative coordinators and a head coach who doesn't stifle them. I rate them a solid contender for a national championship.

No offense, but I'm tired of the maybe next year and oh bioy we played good against a really good team stuff.

We could have won and we blew it. That's it.

Texas may be a blue blood somehow, but we are second fiddle to okie and we lost to LSU. Hell, Herbie says he may vote them #1 now.

Look through our history and see how many weeks Texas has held the #1 ranking. It's pathetic.

You are right, we could have won, that is the biggest take away from this game. We went toe to toe with a great team and fell short. Outside of one Dlinemen, one linebacker and one safety, everyone else is coming back. outside of two receivers 2 offensive linemen, everyone comes back.

Our future is bright. We have 10 games left, and not one is going to be as tough as this one was. Even though we lost, we actually have a better shot at making the playoffs than LSU does.

If we face them again this year, I actually like our chances.

Frankly, a lot of the comments on here sound like aggie moral victories that are so ridiculed.

Texas blew it. had plenty of opportunities and blew it. Like usual.

Chicago and the rest of you negative nay bobs, please leave. You threaten to leave but never do. I have no intention of violating the forums rules but you all are ignorant no-nothings who do nothing but spread nonsense and negativity.

I honestly have to question some people's common sense and real world judgement. Your problems with the level of talent or coaching needs to be directed at the powers that be.

Please go away...

We lost by 7 points to a higher ranked team that "experts" say is a world beater and you say 'we suck". You suck. Now, please go away. My family has a 90 plus year history with this university and I have to suffer through your nonsense.

Take a hike! [removed]

Mods: Ban me if you want, these types of statements by others are disgusting.

I've never threatened to leave. I'm being realistic. Texas is okay, not great. Could have won, maybe, but, as someone else said, not ready for prime time.

Look how long it took for Saban to build LSU and Swinney to build Clemson. Programs that are in the gutter are not easy to rebuild.

Justin Jefferson... 9 receptions for 163 yards and three touchdowns. He caught the 61 yard back-breaker on 3rd and 17; a wobbly duck thrown by a QB falling down under duress... yet Jefferson was only a 2-star recruit? Really?

He was the last guy taken in the class (Mr. Irrelevant if you will). Was thought to be a grade risk and when LSU missed on other guys they offered him the night before signing day. Just goes to show you...

We left TDs on the field 2x in the 1st quarter. That bites you in the *** in almost every big game. Doubt Ingram sleeps tonight. I just hope he recovers mentally for Rice. We'll need him. Most impressive guy tonight was Duverney followed closely by Johnson. Thought Johnson brought a spark when things were really down. Douverney took the fight to #7. Those guys deserve game balls.

Watching while blind are ya?

Maybe we should trade Chicago for Calgary, Canada gets the thugs and we get a great rodeo and skiing.
Not sure what the hell this is supposed to mean, but I guess that proves my low IQ.

Listen, friend, I'm not from Chicago, I just live here. So, if you have more to say, save it, I'm not interested. All you have done is hurl insults my way without really disputing my take on the game. And, that's all it is, my take. Sorry you are so butt hurt over it.

Never thought we’d win so it’s easy for me to say I’m proud how we were in it the whole time. No doubt one can question the goal line failures from two perspectives ‘why not kick the field goal’ and why could we not run a successful scoring play’? On those lines where was the jump pass?
Nevertheless, my take is
1) Sam was off, don’t know if it showed as much on tv but his passes were very poor on numerous throws,
2) defense simply could not get the stop when it needed to desperately
3) see two blamed mainly on secondary - we were NOT DBU tonight.
4) we desperately need a running back that can break the first tackle - especially when it’s an arm tackle!!!
I like Keontay but it looked to me like Roschon was a harder runner tonight.
Anyway, tough loss but I did not expect a win, hence my refusal to place a prediction in the contest as I will NOT bet against my Horns.
