Answer to all above on my post about sending Wil... I corrected it. Yes, yes, yes, I'd have sent Muschamp. That story of how he kept playing with injuries and became a captain on Georgia.... totally inspiring.
And yes I have had the flu. How'd you know? I have had it so bad my ribs are sore from the coughing. This was one week to have stayed off the board.
I guess if I was there, and you had a gun, at least you are a doctor...so there's hope.
anyhoo...I think we can all agree that we are lucky ******** to be Texas fans:
Mack locks up the best in Texas before Labor Day and then spends the next few months getting ready for the next years' recruiting class (Junior Day is right around the corner), focusing on a select few Texas seniors (Cobi Hamilton; Tevin Mims), and trying to snag a blue chip from OOS (Kennard, Jones, Kirkpatrick).
If he is truly open for which school he is going to attend, he should look at the conference. Big 12/Pac 10. (No brainer in my opinion). However, three of his top schools are Pac 10, so I think he is leaning that direction. This bodes well for USC and not good for us. Either way, have a great career and God Bless!!
One last thing on Kennard. His dad won a Super Bowl with Dallas. I think that helps a little with Texas. Either way, I will be real surprised if it is anyone except SC.
I think the fact that USC is almost a lock to at least either share or win the PAC-10 each year is a huge factor in his decision. If he goes to USC he almost certainly plays in a BCS bowl each year and contends for a national championship. Then there's playing in a larger TV market, the beach, Southern California weather, LA, etc. It's hard to say no to all of that.
Maybe the Horns will be playing Barkley and Kennard in a few top BCS bowl games.... Then we'll see.... Muschamps defense against Barkley.... Colt/Gilbert against USC & Kennard.
It's just like with OU... the Texas players who don't come here and play with Texas... they're chosing to play against Texas.
It isn't much of a surprise. It is hard to compete with the glamour of Hollywood also even though Austin is a great city. Good luck to him (except where it involves UT) and thanks to him for considering us. Now in case we ever play against him we need to keep getting good OL who can block him and McFarland.
No surprise at all. Texas almost never wins "announcement" type choices. I don't know why but it's an incredible rarity that it happens.
This one doesn't bother me as much b/c there's a pretty solid chance he'll have a tough time staying healthy w/ that knee. It kind of reminds me of that 5* w/ shoulder problems (damn, can't remember his name) that Texas signed out of Oklahoma a few years back.
