If they hold the vote and Kavanaugh doesn't pass that isn't that bad of an outcome. It shows that Republican leadership is reasonable but won't be cowed and it also shows how the Senators vote. Could be more fuel for the midterm.
Then the Senate should nominate Coney and be done with it. I think Kavanaugh was McConnell's boy anyway. I think Coney was Trump's first pick but did a favor for Mitchy Mitch.

The fact that he's repeating the Democrats' talking points and hanging out with Soros' people tells me he's going to screw the GOP on this. Cocaine Mitch better be making sure he has Murkowski and Collins and that he's nailing down Manchin or Heitkamp.

This is indicative of the problem I have with Never Trump people like Flake. It was possible for a conservative not to support Trump during the election. After all, I didn't support him and gave my reasons here many times. However, regardless of who wins the Presidency, it is the obligation of a principled conservative to support a conservative policy agenda (including conservative judges). If you decide to sabotage a conservative policy agenda (which I at least suspect Judas Flake is going to do), you aren't acting on principle. You are selling out your principles to curry favor with the Left, whom Jeff Flake had previously spent several years fighting.

Lindsey Graham's idea is for Trump to re-nominate Kavanaugh if he fails to get the votes this time. Make the entire midterm election about Kavanugh.

"If his nomination were to fall short, I would encourage President Trump to re-nominate Judge Kavanaugh to the Supreme Court," Graham said in a statement. "It would – in effect – be appealing the Senate’s verdict directly to the American people."
