Ford lied under oath, plus other tidbits that don’t reflect well on her. I am now under the opinion she is making the whole thing up.

I've been a little suspicious of this lately as well. The big push by CNN to canonize RBG is coming from some where. I suspect that besides the obvious age issue, there is something known by insiders that makes them believe she won't last another two years.

If actually does this, he will prove himself a complete idiot. His record is far too conservative to win a Democratic primary. All it would take is for someone to point out his vote for Gorsuch and his extensive pro-life record. Those would immediately disqualify him for 90 percent of Democratic primary voters.

What I could see him doing is running as an independent and trying to play the roll of spoiler. You'd see liberals throw big money at him to do this.
 
Between Feinstein not wanting the findings of the report public, and trump mocking Ford and her phoney testimony today, leads me to believe they caught wind of the findings of the FBI report. Trump went from being politically correct to his old blustery self. That's a sharp turn from this weekend concerning the matter.

I don't know how the vote runs down, but the respective reactions from those two are a good barometer on the (lack of) findings.

I thought the same thing about Feinstein's suggestion. She must know something that's going to make Ford look bad and that that something will be in the FBI's report.

And this should surprise nobody. Anybody who looked at her story with an even remote sense of objectivity could tell that there were major problems with it. Her "credibility" came from political concerns, not from the merits of her accusation.
 
The polygraph lie is huge. That was the only piece of independent evidence (albeit pretty weak) that the Left had to point to. Her story has now been completely and thoroughly discredited. What a dumbass to lie so publically while asking for an FBI investigation.

I lean toward her lying, but do keep in mind that this is a statement from an ex-bf. He could have an axe to grind.

That's possible but I heard he produced the name of the friend that she was coaching. So it can be verified if he is lying or telling the truth. It would be pretty risky and stupid to lie to the FBI, commit a felony simply to get back at an ex.

You're right. Just trying not to be overly optimistic.
 
I heard on the radio this morning (Hugh Hewitt talking to a Republican woman senator, Joni Ernst, I think) that the FBI is wrapping up its' investigation and the Committee could have the report this week, which surprised me. I figured they draw it out like the Mueller invstigation.

I think that the wavering R Senators; Flake, Collins, and Murkowski need that report to justify their "yes" vote. As long as no new skeletons fall out of the closet, I think Kavanaugh is in.
 
She lied about flying, she lied about knowing whether or not the committee would come to California for her testimony and now she is caught lying about coaching on a lie detector test. Given the prosecutor from Arizona specifically asked her about this, my guess is they already knew it.
I think this move by the Democrats kills their taking over the House in November.

I didn't know much about his record. Maybe it's just legacy time since he's not running again.

It would be interesting to see the Liberals supporting an independent ticket when they attacked Nadar for doing the same thing but you know, "It's the hypocrisy, stupid."

The problem with the combination of hate, cynicism and ADHD is that the politicians/lawyers know they can move the goal posts as needed and their base won't care. It's evident in how Mr. O'Rourke is now admitting to misogyny and his base literally say's they don't care. I see it on Facebook. They are intractable. Beto is their savior and there are no standards for the savior. Their cause is what matters; but they do not accept the same argument from the right when it comes to supporting Trump. Trump is the cause in the minds of the Left and not the core values that he defends for the Right.

It doesn't matter what ex-boyfriends say. You are only allowed to "believe her". And that is what half of American thinks. It's sad.
 
Also, O'Rourke apologized so it's okay. Of course he wasn't accused of rape either, so it's hardly the same situation.
 
If I were press secretary, I would of course, talk to Trump behind closed doors and ask him if he enjoys making my job difficult. But that being said, I would love to stand up there and say this:

"There are two conversations going on; the one for the American people and the one that involves reality. Reality is the political battle that is taking place. And as a reporter if it is your assumption that the Democrats are behaving in good faith then you are hopelessly naive and unsuited for your job as a journalist. If you believe the Democrats are rightfully using Machiavellian tactics in destroying anyone who stands in their way then you are unsuited for your job as a journalist because you are hopelessly corrupt. The evidence is there for you; Bill Clinton and Mr. O'Rourke's misogyny. You inability to apply the same standards of outrage is evident for all to see."
 
I'd say Avenatti jumped the shark but this is more like he jumped the Blue Whale.

He clearly thinks ANY publicity is good for him.
