Joe Biden Accomplishment Thread

I agree that there's a double standard. However, the "she won't visit the border" critique is starting to grate on me. Let's be honest. We don't care if Kamala Harris goes to the border for the same reason we didn't care that Ted Cruz went to Mexico during the power outage. There's nothing she can do to solve the problem by visiting the border that she can't do from her office or anywhere else.

I can chime in given my fmr professional background (as can most here)

Ex: a serious "crisis" is happening on a shop floor. Let's say it's the circuit board shop. Every Director in the bldg is pissed off and demands corrective action immediately. Internal and external customers are howling at the door. Credibility is at stake, as is the future of the company (in this case, the administration)

Do you think a VP might make his way down to that shop? FK yes, they will (plural). And more than once. At the employee level you'd hear no less than one VEEP say "hang in there folks, we're behind you and will correct this as fast and best we can". The board shop would hear it. Other shop floors affected would hear it. Sales / CSR groups would hear it. Business Development would hear it. Procurement would hear it. Just about everyone

We never saw nor heard that, being at the citizen level. Only a nervous giggle session and a bad tv interview. If this doesn't ring a bell to someone here, then your exposure to "crisis" management is minimal to non existent. Leadership is needed in a crisis.

This has been mishandled so badly it's embarrassing

I'm not suggesting that she shouldn't go. I'm suggesting that conservative critics (myself included) don't actually care. Suppose she actually had gone to the border, did the obligatory photo-ops, and made speeches about how the Administration was going to solve the problem ASAP by dealing with the alleged root causes like economic stagnation in Latin America and climate change. Would you be happy? Of course not.

Now suppose she didn't go to the border but said, "this huge surge in illegal border crossings has changed my perspective. We need to secure this border now, and the Administration is going to dramatically increase the number of border patrol and ICE officers, deploy federal troops to back them up during the current crisis, and complete the border wall ASAP." You'd be thrilled. You might wonder if she had hopped in the sack with Trump, but you'd be pleased and wouldn't care that she hadn't been to the border.

Biden put her in charge of the border crisis. As a leader, she has done nothing visibly to address the problem. She only blamed it on global warming and got a photo opportunity in South America.

WTF? Gas stations are racist?

“We are reviewing the judge’s opinion and will comply with the decision,” an Interior Department statement emailed by communications director Melissa Schwartz said. “The Interior Department continues to work on an interim report that will include initial findings on the state of the federal conventional energy programs, as well as outline next steps and recommendations for the Department and Congress to improve stewardship of public lands and waters, create jobs, and build a just and equitable energy future.”

Federal judge blocks Biden's pause on new oil, gas leases

Education Department discharges $500 million in debt for 18,000 ITT students in sign of borrower defense progress

So my question is this; if you had your debt cancelled because you were misled or otherwise, does that mean you have no credentials and are not qualify to work in that field? Does it mean you don't put it on your resume? If someone asks you about your schooling and doesn't hire you have you been made whole and waived legal action for not getting the job under some sort of discrimination statute or claim?

On September 6, 2016, ITT Tech ceased operations and closed all of its locations, issuing a statement that attributed the closing to the Department of Education's actions.

At this point your education entity doesn't exist. ITT on your resume may be more of a hindrance than help in getting a new job.

I'm not for debt forgiveness as these individuals made the poor decision to attend that crappy for-profit company. ITT should have NEVER been part of the Federal Student Loan Program nor any other for-profit school.

Whenever there is a unanimous Supreme Court decision, there needs to be more severe penalties for the offending side. You couldn't get one justice to agree to your side? Good grief.

Hard to believe Biden needed printed cards.:lmao:
Who wrote them for him?

Notes are common for all POTUS. They are called talking points for a reason.

Being rude to reporters is one of the things I liked about the Trump. I wish there were a bunch of jocks who would respond like Biden did

Thanks Bubba for pointing out Trump's notes
Look at Trump's talking points notes
Look ar Biden's
Trump's are handwritten by him
Think Biden's were written by him?

Gotta admit, those are some big, thick-looking hands. Marco Rubio's hands wouldn't have looked like that.

(Full disclosure - I'm no one to judge either of them. I have pretty feminine looking hands. They aren't necessarily small, but they are unusually smooth and almost completely hairless.)

Trump's notes were also taking points where Biden's were finger pointing points.

Delicate, yet....masculine.
