Wait, is your claim that this is all done with intent to win the 2020 election? If so I agree although I think we both expect a different outcome. Of course, the thrust of impeachment charges will also agree that Trump's Ukraine action were done for his personal political gain in 2020.

There is little chance the Republicans flee Trump enough to get to 67 votes in the Senate. I'll simply accept the public display of Trumps continuing ethical and criminal challenges.

More from Fox News on Mulvaney's admission that a Quid Pro Quo existed tying the release of Congressionally appropriated aid to Ukraine to start of an investigation for a mythical DNC server that Trump and Guiliani believe is in Ukraine.

Mulvaney added: “Did [Trump] also mention to me, in the past, the corruption related to the DNC server? Absolutely. No question about that. But that’s it. And that’s why we held up the money ... The look back to what happened in 2016 certainly was part of the thing that he was worried about in corruption with that nation. And that is absolutely appropriate.”

Mulvaney was then questioned by a reporter about his explanation, saying that it sounded like a quid pro quo.

He responded: "We do that all the time. Get over it. Politics is going to be involved in foreign policy. Elections do have consequences."

Forget that Trump also tried to get a sweetener in the deal with a Biden investigation but the DOJ had no idea that the White House was withholding $400m to support their investigation.

Mulvaney also said that one of the stipulations for Ukraine receiving aid was that Kiev cooperates with Connecticut U.S. Attorney John Durham’s investigation into the origins of the 2016 Russia investigation. But a senior Justice Department official told Fox News that the department had no idea what Mulvaney was talking about.

"If the White House was withholding aid in regards to the cooperation with any investigation at the Department of Justice, that is news to us," the official said.

I think it speaks directly to Trump and Guiliani working towards their own political interests and not any more general battle against "corruption" or in support of the DOJ. Keep in mind, Trump has been running his own investigation with Guiliani.
