Ike Will Threaten Texas-Arkansas

UTEE...You're right, I forgot about that whole thing!

My bad, I should have remembered that...

Didn't they schedule Aggy up in Dallas instead?

1530 just reported that UT has not made a decision but if the storm remains on its current path the game will be postponed.

So basically the game is being moved to the 27th.

Is that TD Stonie I see out of left corner of my eye? Come on stonie...save UT football again.

Flash, i wasn't saying the weather isn't a factor, i was saying it's not the only factor. i was just talking to the ppl talking about how playing in the rain isn't a big deal... it's football.. blah blah blah.

From what I've seen, I bet we don't play this weekend.

However...

What are the olds that Arkansas refuses to reschedule to the 27th?

Anyone?

Doc

my attention is now focused on arkie allowing the reschedule to the 27th.

if ike doesn't change, the game is definitely postponed. right now, that is what it looks like.

i've gotten over that. but what if arkie won't allow for the 27th?

Very good chance they don't reschedule since we don't have to go up there next year...Could we get someone on the schedule that soon if not....I doubt it....

Not that someone wouldn't want that guarantee money.

I would not be at all surprised if Arkansas attempts to avoid rescheduling.

However, we all know that DeLo$$ Dodd$ is extremely adept at extracting the maximum amount of money from any situation, and I don't think he would want to give up the gate revenue + concessions in the case of a complete cancellation.

During this time of crisis, I can find peace in the midst of my disappointment...Its going to be hurricane-ing on gameday, and OU still sucks.

Speaking of which, wouldn't it suck if this was happening OU weekend?! With all the evacuees/hotel stuff to deal with in Dallas...ugh that'd just suck.

But anyway, back to Ike...I've pretty much accepted the fact that I will be "hunkered down" in my dorm room making easy mac around 2:30 this Saturday.

I have said all along that I doubt we reschedule.
The next four opponents for Arkansas are

#8 Texas
#11 Bama (That will be #10 or so by kickoff)
#4 Florida
#9 Auburn

Once conference play begins, and with that line up, why in the hell would Arkansas not
come up with some sort of reason that makes them unable to reschedule?

I don't get the conern that Arkansas wouldn't reschedule the game. First their in a contract, secondly and most importantly, Petrino is using this year and a building year. His team needs as many games as possible.

This will all change many times probably, but as of 12:30 PM today the center of Ike has been forecast to come ashore around Matagorda Bay Friday 7:00 AM. If it does that and makes the projected right turn inland, Austin will be on the clean side. By game time Saturday there should be no more that some heavy showers in the Austin area.

I don't think you have to be worried about us agreeing to move the game. I cannot imagine why we wouldn't. It would be a PR nightmare if we refused.

Once again, it's not about the weather. It's about the hundreds of thousands of people evacuating the coast. This game is going to get rescheduled.

So here is a question I have:

I bought tickets to this game from a person who has season tickets through the Longhorn Foundation. If this game gets canceled and moved to another date, will I be able to still use these tickets or am I screwed?

If this game is rescheduled they're not going to reprint new tickets, so your ticket would be fine to get you into the rescheduled game. If they issue refunds for a competely cancelled game, I have no clue.

Get ready for the Houston news stations to go nuclear. One of the reliable models just came out and has Ike as CAT 4 coming up Galveston Bay. Don't have a link, but it's the 12Z GFDL model run.

Still time for things to change, but that's gonna scare the bejeebus out of city officials.
