Horns vs Bears thread

Man...that 3rd down play call right there.

You trusted Thompson to drop back for a pass there? He’s a mess right now. I think he hurt his hand on a run to the left about 15 minutes ago, and has thrown wobbly passes ever since. Then, got blasted a few times since then, too.

yep. And “talent” is both a snapshot in time while in high school based on other HS players, and a fleeting aspect if not continuously improved. Today, Baylor has better players on the field, recruiting stars be dammed.

That is correct but it speaks to the athletic potential of the players. It is the staff's job to realize that potential. But instead our players get worse.

How can anyone say that this team doesn't quit when they get the ball run down their throats every game? Weak tackling. Getting blocked.

Once they get down their effort level goes to crap.

I was talking about the 3rd and 4 run up the gut when we needed a TD drive

Let me ask you a question, Duck.
Baylor was 2-7 last year.
DO YOU think they magically obtained a massive amount of new talent in one year??
Who’s winning? Who is dominating the line of scrimmage? Texas fans always think Texas players are theses super talented players who are always being held back by stupid coaches, when the results are the field don’t show that.

Yes. Did you even watch the rest of the drive leading up to that play? If you think he can't hit a 5-7 yard pass to the point where we needed to run up the middle (which hasnt worked all game, while our passing game has been more effective) on 3rd and medium, then you aren't judging objectively.

I see the same meltdown you see. I think it’s the players, not the staff that was hired in the spring of 2021.

Why did the players take steps backwards in the past year while Baylor's got better?

Or was Tom actually a genius to manage to get to 7-3 with this mediocre bunch?

Well, I was still watching
Probably Sark thought it was 4 down territory if Bijan got close, but when the line couldn’t even support that, he decided to take the 3
