Horns - Pigs Game Thread

I think the offense sputtered because Sark was trying to hard to establish the run. And Wisner isn't the answer against a good run defense and piggy is good against the run. The last TD drive Sark passed in 1st down and the run game opened up. And Blue carrying the ball helped too. He showed more power than Wisner today and we know he's lethal in the open field. And, yes, he better be thankful that fumble went out of bounds.

This is why you dont stop recruiting a player you know can help your team. As a reminder he was committed to Florida before Sark flipped him a couple weeks before NSD.

He's earned millions coming back another year. Hope others players see that.

Sorry but im not starting someone to "see how he does" this late in the year with so much on the line.

When our schedule was released I called the Kentucky game a trap game. You go with what brought you here and make in game changes if needed.
I get that, but let’s be candid:

QE’s performance today was poor for most of three quarters, and then “good” for one drive in the 4th. Given the way the offensive line played, this game should not have been close. And don’t forget what Mississippi did to this Arkansas defense.

If this was an aberration, I might be more forgiving. But it isn’t. He has been generally underperforming since Michigan, and the UTSA injury is no longer a reasonable excuse.

Even most of the people I know – that tend to bend over backwards to give Quinn the benefit of the doubt – are questioning him.

Maybe he’s the best quarterback this team has. But frankly, I’m not so sure. That’s why I would consider starting Arch next week. I get the disruption that could result, but outside of QE making a quantum leap in performance (an unrealistic expectation), I just don’t see QE getting this team – and this immensely talented offense – to the promised land.

I’d start Manning next week, but pull the trigger quick if not easily beating Kentucky. Ewers will have a very hard time winning a CFP championship.

The stats seem to show a good if unspectacular game by Quinn
No turnovers seems big to me
Certainly Jesse Palmer thought QE played well
Sark preaches complementary football and we saw it today

Why? If he didn't he would have had lots of people in Austin with questions when he got back, and a voicemail on his cell phone.

My only question was the defense on the previous attempt to get them to jump was loaded to the left side with no one in the middle. Of course, a sneak or run would have required one of two people to get a brush (not a block, just get in the way), but that's asking a lot from the right side of our OL.
Surely he blocks his phone.

What gets me is the narrative out there. Our offense has been average but competent.

Our defense is #2 in total defense, #4 in scoring defense.

The win was impressive. How the Texas defense carried the game when the offense was lacking. That's the actual story.

He had 176 yards passing with great protection, except when he ran into sacks, or tripped on his own player. Hit zero passes down the field that I can remember.

The defense has been the story this season. Except for an aberration of 23 points over only 89 yards against GA, which arguably any D would have trouble defending (thanks to the turnovers), the D has been spectacular.
