Favorite Texas Football Picture

yeah, great stuff Texas My Texas. That pic of Street vs Tennessee looks out of the SWC Football book series, and it's now my wallpaper. Thanks!!

Where did that great fisheye shot of the 1970 offense come from?

Remember this guy:

Glad that Slick Street liked the action shot of his namesake Jimmy Street in the Cotton Bowl v. Tennessee. That did in fact come from the SWC Football book.

I don't remember where the fisheye shot of the 1970 offense came from, I think it was something I saw on ebay and just downloaded it.

Thanks again to Since 61 for his amazing recollection of the details of some of these photos.

It looks like Earl may be playing fullback in the Wishbone here:

big time hit you are asking for trouble and basically just asked for all our anti-Aggy pics. Well we not only greatly outnumber you in # of posters here that are fans, but also greatly outnumber you in # of wins to get pictures from.

I'll start by reposting this one:

WOW! Talk about great timing. I was playing songs from "The Good, the Bad, and the Ugly" when I came across this thread and the climatic part of the theme from that movie was playing right when I got to several of the pictures of Earl including the one of the Longhorn herd leading him....talk about chills running down your back. I've never played a down of organized football in my life, but I was ready to take out my bedroom wall after that.

Ah, the "glory years" of aggy football. The best teams money could buy. How's it feel to be back where you belong, as the laughingstock of college football?

aggy, i noticed that not one of those pics were from anytime near the present.

doesnt texas lead the all time series 70-35 or something and dont we have a better record at pyle ?

does anyone still have that pic which shows kyle half empty for our game?

Aggy,

Your latest post will surely be deleted, not because of content but because of your waste of bandwith: excessively long posts such as those aren't welcomed.

I understand good-natured ribbing by the posting of your favorite "Texas Football Pictures"... it's what Ags and Longhorns do.

However, I don't think you want to go down the NCAA infraction road... you can't win that one.

1987 and 1960's smack over minor infractions? Pretty weak.

Texas My Texas,
The Gilbert picture is another one I haven't seen before. Though not all that fast, Chris had great balance and quickness and broke off a bunch of electrifying long runs for the Horns. He was the first man in NCAA history to rush for 1,000+ yards in each of his varisty seasons (before freshman were eligible). Here are his season totals for rushing, with my not-reliable recollections of his per-carry averages for each season:
1966: 1080 (5.2)
1967: 1019 (5.0)
1968 1132 (6.0)
I could tell he was special when I saw him run for 29 yards on probably his first carry in his first varsity game (in the second half) against a superb USC team in 1966. We lost 10-6, but put up a strong effort. (That was Bill Bradley's first game, also.)

yep, TexasMyTexas is rockin' with those pics. Just located that pic---comes from a pre-season mag titled "The Longhorns," in 1968. There's also one prior to 1969. I'm not sure if there are other years' issues, but I'm fortunate to have both of those, courtesy of Dad.

Holy ****,TMT, I looked for a pic of that for about a week when this thread first started. Glad you could find it.

Can anyone vidcapture the pic of Vince taking it to the house against Nebraska.... where Roy and BJ realize he's gone, and throw up the 'Hook 'Em in tandem?
