Election Night

Hispanics faithfully voted Democrat until the Dumbocrats:
1) Became beholden to effete, rich, white men and obnoxiously self-righteous white women, none of whom have the first clue about Hispanic culture;
2) Became more and more hostile to Christians in general and Catholics in particular;
3) Started using idiotic terms like "Latinx", thinking their Ivy League assault on plain English would translate just as well to Spanish (without causing offense or derision among everyday voters);
4) Became more hostile to Mexican and Hispanic Americans than to illegal Hispanic border crossers in a naked attempt to change the electorate down the road;
5) Presumed that Mexican and Hispanic Americans would remain loyal to the Dumbocrats because they are too stupid to know when they are being gaslit by mainstream media propaganda;
6) Went insane on abortion rights, tying directly back in to point #2.

I am sure if I sat and pondered some more, that I could add a lot more to this list. But where you can probably sum up all these points is in acknowledging that Hispanic culture is very family oriented, generally matriarchal, and mostly in line with traditional conservative cultural values. The Dumbocrats ran away from Hispanics, not the other way around.
Congrats - you have achieved whiteness:

Arizona and Nevada are taking their sweet time - and still no results on their Senate races. And apparently there are a bunch of House races still not settled. Democrats dragging their feet?

A few thoughts on the election. Sorry, I can't be brief. lol

1. Democrats were absurdly overconfident and arrogant. They believed they could dump Biden and sub in Harris while answering no questions about it and that nobody would care or be suspicious. They were wrong. They should have held an open convention or at least let the DNC pick somebody.

2. Harris was a terrible candidate. She may not have been senile, but in virtually every public appearance, she proved that she was in over her head and unprincipled. In short, she was dumb and phony, and nobody was fooled.

3. The days of running for office as a nut and then trying to run again later as a sane person are over. Too easy to find clips of you saying nutty things. This hurt Harris a lot.

4. The Democratic Party is now the party of the rich. The top income groups voted for Harris. That wouldn't be a problem by itself, but it's also the party of pretenious, self-righteous, judgmental rich people, which is profoundly off-putting.

5. The Democratic Party has no defining agenda except abortion radicalism. They waffled on every policy priority except for that. In addition to being the Party of the assholic rich, it's also the party of bitter single and divorced women, who are even more off-putting than the self-righteous rich.

6. The Democrats have destroyed the effectiveness of the allegations of racism, fascism, and Nazism. They've thrown them around falsely so many times and for so long that nobody gives a crap anymore. They don't stick anymore. Furthermore, not only did voters not think Trump was a fascist, they didn't believe the people calling him a fascist believed it, which damaged their credibility even more.

7. The national media has almost no political influence beyond partisan progressives. They did nothing but repeat every Democratic smear without scrutiny and pitch Democratic narratives to do everything they could to help Democrats win, and it blew up in their faces. Nobody cared. Their credibility is gone.

8. The lawfare approach not only failed but backfired. It looked as baldly political as it was. Even the cases that had at least some degree of merit were so drowned out by bullcrap cases that they couldn't get any traction.

9. Left wing antisemitism hurt the Democrats. Tim Walz was an atrocious running mate. He had significant baggage and was a terrible advocate. Every time he opened his mouth he sounded fake and not very bright. The contrast with Vance was incredible. Had they gone with Shapiro, this election very well could have gone differently.

10. Democrats need to drop the push for censorship and the trans agenda. They are both political losers with no appeal outside of totalitarian, academic Left. Basically, Woodrow Wilson-types like them, and no one else does.

11. Democrats know nothing about Hispanics. Others have elaborated on this more, so I won't belabor the point, but it's pretty astounding. They may have won them overall, but if they stay as they are, that demographic will be gone very soon.

11. The weakening of Democratic dominance with minorities and the working class is going to hurt them beyond swing states if they don't change. Trump swept the swing states, but in addition to that, he did well in solid blue states. New York, New Jersey, and Illinois were closer than they've been in years. Not saying they're about to flip, but could they be in striking distance by '32? Maybe.

12. Inflation is a b*tch from a political standpoint. 8 percent unemployment is bad, but if you do the math, that means 92 percent of the public isn't in serious trouble. High inflation jacks everybody who isn't wealthy, so it pisses off far more voters.

13. The public hates illegal immigration, and nobody believes the Democrats aren't totally in favor of it. Harris tried to pivot on the issue, but after 3 years of gleefully denying there was a problem and calling everybody who disagreed racists, nobody believed her.

It's gonna be much harder for them to change this time. After Mondale and Dukakis got schlonged, they realized they needed to moderate on taxes, crime, and welfare. It wasn't as hard to moderate on those, because they were to the left of their own voters on those issues.

On gender ideology, racial discrimination, and illegal immigration, their base and the entire culture they've built up around themselves views their positions as the only morally defensible positions. They've rejected traditional Christianity and Judaism and substituted crap like this and other weird social justice causes as their defining morality. If the party moves right on them in practice (more than on shallow rhetoric), many Democrats will view it as a profound moral failing and freak out. Remember, in their minds, those of us who disagree are "literally Hitler."

He is happy as sh1t, and frankly, I understand. He was a terrible president and corrupt as hell. However, he won the nomination fair and square, and the party bosses and power brokers, all of whom were supposed to be his friends, jacked him. I understand why they did it, but he clearly disagreed. Furthermore, they did it in a very slimy manner.

Would he have beaten Trump? Realistically, no - not after the crappy job he did in office. But can he delude himself into thinking he could have? Yes. He's the only Democrat who beat Trump. Everyone else who tried failed, and the party bosses picked someone who had the worst electoral performance by a Democrat since 1988. He can gloat a little.

It is truly astounding. I think this shows the tremendous pressure of running for and being President. I have not seen him sound this lucid without stumbling and slurring over words multiple times in years.

The pressure is off. He is relaxed. All he has to do is pardon his son and move on.

I still don't get New Mexico. Oil production is the only real economic engine in the state, but they seemingly hate it. I guess they are comfortable with the tax money from the ski slopes and other tourist tax revenue.
Albuquerque is the population center of NM. It leans blue. Sante Fe, being the state capitol, is similar to Austin. But for whatever reason, Albuquerque shifted from red to blue like Harris county.

I figured this glass was appropriate tonight.

Figured you'd go for a Bud Light lol

Dems really are strange in that they can't figure out what the general population cares about.
Look at the county by county election map. Dems really do live in the NE population bubble, plus other big cities where the American experience is, sadly, warped.
