Yes, in that aspect, New Mexico is very similar to Hawaii.What do they consider those of Hispanic descent? Pre-colonizers? Or, like in Hawaii, if you have brown skin, you are a “native”. In Hawaii, if you are brown or yellow, like a Filipino or Japanese descendant, you look “Asian” native, which is close enough to Hawaiian native.
