He probably believed it. If you look at the date, it was when the Trump/Billy Bush video and its aftermath were still the big sorry. The Comey letter was still a few days away from changing the subject.

Speaking of cigars, if someone asks you to name something good Obama has done, you can mention the lifting of the ban on travelers bringing Cuban cigars into the US. I've already got people asking me to bring some with me next time I go to Texas.

That'll be an interesting confirmation hearing. If I was a Democrat on the committee, my first question would be, "Senator Cruz, the President who has nominated you has on several occasions referred to you as "Lying Ted." If he thinks you're a dishonest person, then why should this committee or the American people believe anything you say?"

Just respond to the Dem who asked the question if he believes Hillary is 'crooked'. Sure we all know she is, but no Dem is gonna say yes or acknowledge it. Point is if they don't put stock in her Trump given nickname than why acknowledge his?

Or how about "we have all lied at some point in our lifetimes, which by definition makes all God's children liars. I have not lied in any form that disqualifies me from holding this office anymore than your lies disqualify you from yours".
