Death toll in Texas elementary school; 18 children, 2 adults killed

Think looky lous would rush to an active shooter site which makes things difficult for LOE?
If there is a good reason for it I would like to read it.

And it looks like your boy in DC didn't have enough balls to keep his tweet up, so maybe he found out the Republicans were voting against yet another non-sensical and wasteful spending bill proposed by Democratx.
There was a window this morning where Twitter appears to have been down...I got a lot of 'not available, try again later' messages between roughly 630-7a.

But yes, I otherwise agree with your commentary on why responsible legislators voted against it...

Might be because it isn't within the proper purview of the federal government...and is not something which would require $2M to accomplish.

Text - H.R.6538 - 117th Congress (2021-2022): Active Shooter Alert Act of 2022

Lunacy would be voting FOR more federal bloat.

Pro-tip: a nationwide alert is not needed for a local event.
but it would help democrats create more fear. If you start getting alerts for every gun event everywhere across the country you're going to start FEELING like they are happening in your backyard every 5 minutes. It is the same emotional phenomenon as having your local news station run with a lead like "Are your local restaurants killing you?" just to generate interest in their segments. It would serve zero purpose for response but lots or propaganda points.

Six ways your local restaurant is killing you, coming up at 6:00!

It's a pretty short read but doesn't doing anything of value. As others have stated, what can a national system do for a shooting in one school? The language is more suggestion anyway with sections like

  • encourage Federal, State, Tribal, and local government agencies to establish procedures to respond to an active shooter, including active shooter procedures relating to interstate or interjurisdictional travel
  • The best practices established under subsection (a) shall—

(A) be adoptable on a voluntary basis only

A good guy with a gun killed a would be mass murderer in Greenwood, Indiana. If you hadn't heard, more life saved by an armed citizen.

And yet Mona the anti gun idiots are whining that eve tho he had a legal permit the mall
didn't allow guns so he is no hero.

I didn't know the 18 yo murderer in Uvalde had not shot a gun before. Compared to the nearly 400 "trained experts ".
How can they live with themselves?

I'll do the smart *** part for you.... "how did the shooter have a gun if there was a rule that the mall was gun free?"

Good for this guy/gal.

The Ulvade thing continues to be more and more disturbing.

Make the principals and assistant principals take small arms training from the police, and have them armed. Not the teachers, but the principals and assistant principals. Those who object are probably in the wrong line of work in these strange days.

HISD chief of police claimed the other day that the District is not ready and needs all sorts of new toys and training. Same article discusses the District having close to $300M in surplus cash...meanwhile, they cut pay and staffing. Audit determined that it is an abnormally large surplus for a school district...

Chief wants 200 ballistic shields, rifles for each officer, and ammunition to go with the training. Cost was estimated to be $100K.

Setting aside the eyes agape at the surplus, why is the Chief just informing the Board of this days before the school year commenced?

Interesting
It is Always a call for more money
But it was not a matter of money in Uvalde.
Uvalde could have been mitigated if day to day rules were followd ie LOCK the damn doors.
And the police sure looked like they had plenty of equipment as they waited and waited and waited right outside the door. What if they had EXECUTED the way they trained and swore they would?
HISD dude is covering his azz the only way libs know how

I don't care. I'll never have any use for the DisAstros. Didn't like them during the Craig Biggio, Jeff Bagwell, Ken Caminiti days either.

That's fine, but still a nice thing to do for the citizens still processing such a tragic event. And BTW, the Yankees have been caught cheating more times over the past decade than the Astros as have the Red Sox (but not as much as the Yanks).

It was a nice thing to do, and after they're done, they can go back to licking my sack.
