I think more than one person has already alluded to this, but I think the talk about us having a slight lead is just to add more drama to the situation. I just have a feeling he's Colorado bound.

The reason, to me, that this thing is getting so overblown is that IT'S THE ONLY THING WE HAVE TO DO because of early recruiting.

Back before Mack instituted early recruiting, these last few weeks were crazy. Lots of guys on the fence. Now, it's 1 or 2 guys at the very end. Perriloux, Rouse, X, etc. We get overly wrapped up in it because there's nothing else to do.

I hope we get DS. I have no clue if it happens. But at least we're in the running and that should keep us hanging around until Feb.

The fact that we won't bring in Dean for an Official Visit says a lot to me. If we didn't think we could land Scott we'd be all over Dean who is very interested in Texas right now.

You think it's fair to say Dean is interested because of Major? Was Major recruiting him while at Bama?

Seems like he wasn't interested in Texas b/c of no early love. Now, after Major gets here, the chatter on the boards says he's interested.

Whatever the case with Dean, it'd be real nice to see Scott join the great running back tradition at Texas.

All our eggs are not in one basket. We have MORE than enough RBs signed in this class, w/o Scott.

Hills
Newton
Roberson

You could call Fitzhenry and Hales RBs like Rivals is, but whatever. This isn't exactly a Perriloser situation here. Dean would be nice if we can't land Scott, but Scott's not going to commit w/ time on the clock. There's no way we get Dean, especially not w/ Neweasel and Chow at UCLA now.

^ don't get too wrapped up in that, Brantley has UT wall paper all over his myspace page even after he decommitted for a while. (according to HF posters)
I think Texas has a great shot. I do expect every one of the CU coaches to make an in-home like they did w/ Katoa followed by calls from Katoa & Major & anyone else they think will sway him to CU.
I understand Texas has 1 more visit as well w/out Mack.
I'm thinking the last visit might be enough. Whoever that is.

I keep checking the recruiting boards thinking there will be some little tidbit or feedback about Mack's in-home visit with Scott last Tues..... but nothing has leaked out here, there or anywhere - just speculation. I flirted with the notion that Mack might push Scott to make a verbal commitment this week, with only about 2 weeks left on the signing day clock, as there are still a couple of kids (Dean?) he might want to offer that schollie to if Scott defects to CU. Mack is a master at recruiting and I am sure he is doing what the situation calls for, not necessarily what we all perceive is the best course of action.

Problem for me is, because of the many past OCC dry-hole experiences the program has had... I have a bad feeling about this one... I truly hope I am wrong.

Scott's high school coach is going to be out of contact with Scott until late today or tomorrow is what i've been told. Therefore we may have to be a little patient in regards to any info leaking out.

We're set up to visit him the last day of the recruting "season." Texas coaches appear to be the last coaches he will be able to speak to before the dead period starts. I think Kennedy and Applewhite are set to go there.
