WTF. Don't work for population at large, but work on an individual basis?? If they don't work they don't work, period. Duh!

He probably could have explained the inconsistency, but that would have been equally embarrassing. The reason why masks work on an individual basis for SOME individuals is that folks who were masks tend to maintain social distance better than not wearing one (i.e., the mask is a signaling device to others in other words). However over time, with enough social interactions, the benefit drops to zero. But for a few paranoid folks, it probably has a net benefit. The problem is that the vast majority of folks don’t act paranoid regarding Covid.
So Jill Biden now tests positive for Covid? Is this a way to enable them to get slow Joe to back out? Say he comes down with it, he resigns for health reasons? Just thinking out loud.

I don't think Jill was ever controlling him. In fact, she made comments a few years ago that suggested she didn't particularly want him to run. They were enjoying retirement and being done with politics. The ones actually controlling him are likely former Obama officials that are now inside the Administration.
My guess is that the Democrats will decide what to do based on the GOP. If we nominate Trump, they'll probably stick with Biden unless he has a major health scare like a big heart attack or stroke. No no reason to have an intraparty war to take on a guy who is facing prison time. He can win from the basement again.
The real calamity will arise if the GOP nominates Desantis or Haley. They'd run circles around him, won't give tons of political ammo to them, and will force the Democratic nominee to run a real campaign or face certain defeat.
Medical doctors are exposed all of the time and generally have good resistance. Oh wait, nevermind.

Clean, I just got over what I called a cold because i refused to take another Covid test - I’ve had it twice also. Interesting thing is we all think I got second case of Covid from my 2 yr old granddaughter and guess who I was around with the sniffles this time? Yep same granddaughter but now she’s almost three. Anyway taking wife’s advise I used a Nettie pot for sinus drainage and took Airborne three times a day once I knew wasn’t going away on its own and knocked that sucker out in 2-3 days. Never felt real bad just sinus and not myself.
To your question I can only say I think that Rendesofer stuff (or some such spelling) was the one my Dr said don’t take and the Paxo was ok - or is that backwards? In other words I have no clue. If you have a good dr let him guide you. But it’s a challenge to find a good Dr today.

I don’t think anyone recommends that now.
I’ve heard nothing but good things regarding Paxlovid as in their symptoms went away within 2 days of taking it.

I took it when I had the Wuhan summer of 22. Tastes terrible, like the cheapest, nastiest vitamin you've ever had.
I never had really bad symptoms, just a fever and a horrid sore throat. Got over it in 3-4 days, not sure how much Paxolvid helped. I'm early 50's in good shape so not a big risk for dying from it.

I called my doctor and he prescribed Paxlovid. It’s six pills a day. 3 in the morning and 3 in the evening. The pills come in packets and are clearly marked to show which are for day/night. I took the first pills yesterday evening. I felt like **** when I went to bed, but I feel much better today. I’m pretty impressed so far.
The biggest thing about Paxlovid is that it interacts with everything; cholesterol drugs, prostate drugs, even some asthma drugs. You pretty much have quit taking your regular meds for a week, but that’s better than winding up in the hospital with Covid.

Hum, well I’ll keep you posted. Everyone else was positive about it.
BTW, my two daughters inform me this is only my second bout with Covid. I think I was counting a bout of bronchitis as Covid. As I said, I have chronic lung issues.
