Coronavirus

Anybody still notice that everyone advocating shutting down the economy are all employed hypocrites? Government, news media, CDC, universities, and Hollywood elites all have jobs or do not need money. Plus they are all anti Trump and want the economy to tank so he is not really-elected.

The biggest number of people calling for closures that I see are now teachers, school administrators, and parents of school children.

It's official Round Rock ISD is going on-line for first 3 weeks of next school year. This despite every health organization around the world calling for reopening schools for in person instruction. We have hit a level of paranoia that I never knew possible.

Also, there are hints that Abbott is going to close down the state a second time later this week. We're doomed.

Here is the latest from Houston where, according to national media, coronavirus is "out of control."

Now for the real numbers -- Yesterday 3 people died who had tested positive. Each was over 80 years old. Two had cancer and one had a heart condition.

Sunday, 6 people in Houston died who had tested positive for the virus. Five were over 80 years old and died from heart and lung conditions. The one under 80 was morbidly obese and had diabetes and asthma.

Errors in testing in Florida. This would be comical if not so devastating to people's lives and the country's economic health.

FOX 35 INVESTIGATES: Hospitals confirm mistakes in Florida’s COVID-19 report
And let us not over look the testing of Jimmie Johnson that kept him from making all left turns, all the time a few weekends back. Tests positive with NO symptoms and then just days later, has two tests within a few days of each other that came back negative.

Anyone seen this in the media anywhere?
My theory is that the actual data pisses them off and, as a result, they only show the data that looks scary

Here is more our media doesn't share
This is about hydroxychloroquine usage across several nations
"CFR" = case fatality rate

Joe Fan, the death number are completely unreliable too. Even if the numbers are low because most of the deaths reported each day aren't from that day or even that week. They are from April and May. This is complete deception.

And yet someone at my work yesterday blamed "idiots" for the huge surge in Texas and claimed we HAVE to treat EVERYONE as if they were SICK. I didn't even attempt to correct him, because he was so emotional about it, I knew my disagreement would have only made him angrier.

CDC uses a mathematical model to estimate the numbers of influenza deaths in the United States, as well as, the impact of influenza vaccination on these numbers.

The model uses a ratio of deaths-to-hospitalizations in order to estimate the total influenza-associated deaths from the estimated number of influenza-associated hospitalizations.

Many parents will not be able to return to work if they have to stay home with their kids. I would bet that if schools just completely closed until January and no one would be paid until then (like the parents), school districts, administrators and teachers would find a way to open the schools. And I’m a retired 32-yr teacher.

Man, our AD is hella smart.

If someone with influenza dies in a car wreck, how do they code it?

As far as coronavirus accounting goes, right now there is a key distinction to be made between
"died from Covid-19"
versus
"died with Covid-19"
I am not convinced that this distinction is being consistently made by federal, state and county official record keepers.

To Wear (a mask) or not to wear... that is the question...
a poem by bystander

What is it that you want?
To walk in your own shoes?
You tell me you want freedom
Freedom is what you choose

Are you brave for consequence?
Apparently that is what you are
You won't ask anyone for help
Freedom is burning your own star

Who said no man is an island?
Was it God or someone like you?
We live in a harbor or a parking lot
Surrounded by everyone's island too

Do you till the land by your own hand
Accepting nothing but the pain yourself?
But if a man said, he'd soon be dead
Would it be your choice or his health

Think it was just coincidental that Turner waited so late to screw the GOP Convention
Yea sure he was just trying to be fair and wait so long to force cancel.
Wonder how all the business people feel about this?

Only an idiot would believe this is about the virus.
