Three positive studies for Hydroxychloroquine

Hydroxychloroquine and azithromycin effective in treating coronavirus: French study

39 elderly Texans successfully complete hydroxychloroquine treatment for COVID-19, doctor says

Comparing HydroxyChloroquine Trials

I'm having a hard time believing hydroxychloroquine doesn't work. If it was just patients saying it works I wouldn't be buying into it. However, too many doctors from China, South Korea and the United States that are on the frontlines against Covid-19 say it works. People demean Trump for starting the HCQ craze but the reason why he brought it up was because various doctors told him of the success they had using it. I'm still of the opinion it is the politics involved in some of these unsuccessful studies. I don't think Big Pharma is going to allow a cheap generic drug get in the way of a multi-billion dollar vaccine or another newer anti-viral. Too much money is at stake.

Boy do I agree. To anyone with any sense of objectivity it is obvious that the media is obsessed with discrediting the drug. We all know why. They gleefully and immediately report any study or anecdote that supports that narrative — that Trump was wrong and that HCQ doesn’t work. I’ve gotten to the point that if the source of the story is the NYT, CNN, MSDNC, The Atlantic, Politico....I immediately assume that the story is biased, or tainted. After all, that’s their well established track record.

Isn't it curious that the lack of peer review — remember how important that was for the positive stories — is never mentioned in their reports of the bad outcomes.

Isn’t it curious that after millions of pills were sent to NYC, Detroit and Boston, we have heard nada about those results? Let’s think about this: If hydroxychloroquine was ineffective or “killing patients” in New York, who doesn’t think that such details would have been leaked through the usual suspects by now?

So apparently the jury is still out. Maybe.

My wife made the comment tonight that she sensed Trump knew something that he wasn’t sharing yet. Something good. We shall see. She’s rarely wrong when she makes such rare observations.

Based on my extensive knowledge of Clinical Statistics (I had to take Clinical Statistics in my under grad because the regular statistics was full) even I know 368 is too small a sample to get any meaningful study done.

With the realization that there might be up to 10 different strands of the Kung Flu it's highly likely that some strands are much more potent than others. In other words there are probably stands that say "piss on you malaria drug, I will kill you for your insolence".

You make a good point there. The media has been quiet as a church mouse over this and we know they wouldn't be quiet if there was anything negative happening.

What's really disturbing is that Hydroxychloroquine is becoming a partisan political issue. It sounds to me like it helps some people and doesn't help others - you know, like every friggin' drug that people take. Perhaps we should defer to the actual doctors treating the actual patients and let them decide what to do. I'd take my doctor's word over Trump's or Dr. Faici's or Jim Acosta's.

From your article:
The nationwide study was not a rigorous experiment. But with 368 patients, it’s the largest look so far of hydroxychloroquine with or without the antibiotic azithromycin for COVID-19, which has killed more than 171,000 people as of Tuesday.
The study was posted on an online site for researchers and has not been reviewed by other scientists.

I'd say this is an EXTREMELY thin negative report and probably shouldn't have gotten any attention whatsoever.

Keep in mind Bubba believed the Steele Dossier too.

If Trump say's it, then it's over; it's political and the Left will work to destroy whatever it is that he said. There is no doubt about it.

It's not science. I thought science was the only standard.

It's like #believethevictim. That means innocent until proven guilty is out. Yet Biden is safe.

Political validation suspends widely accepted standards of consensus or Constitutional safeguards in favor of hypocrisy, mere accusation, charlatanism, hysteria, outright rejection of obvious truths uttered by your opponent and the knighting of politicians and actors for mastery of intellectual inerrancy and virtue signaling.

The virus has created an odd moment is US history
Did you ever think you would hear Americans clamoring for this?

“I’m anxious for the government to allow me to go back to work.”

Yes. It is an irony that the people demanding to go to work AND NOT DEPEND ON A HAND-OUT are being attacked.

Or the idea that a viable baby in the womb is not a life to be protected.

I was just reading some Wescott Eberts/Burnt Orange Nation for some recruiting news and unintentionally stumbled across his twitter screeching over the recent protestors in Austin who wanted to go back to work. These people were out, not because they are evil but because they wanted to save their businesses and their jobs

But BON absolutely came unglued over them - he lost it. 100% emotion. Even blamed them for the death of somebody's mother from coronavirus

I am not sure what we are supposed to do with people like this who have become untethered to reality. Are we supposed to treat them like children? If the answer is "yes," then they do not get to vote. It's why we do not let children vote in the first place

It is not an easy thing to figure out. Further, why is the assumption that only right-wingers want their jobs back? What about the sacred working men and women (white collar worker's aren't considered working men/women) that are union or "underprivileged?" Don't they want to go back to work? Apparently not. Apparently that $1,200 check is good enough.

Your mistake is attempting to get to the bottom of their rationale
When none exists

Don't attack a person who wants to go back to work. That's a person we depend on. Effort. Ambition. That's what we want. It's normal for people to want to take care of their families with their own two hands. Instead let's work with our leaders to make that happen without a relapse. We need further education on opening up with safeguards in place. We need to police each other without being fascists. Can we work together washing our hands and wearing masks? It's not evil to want to give it a try. It's just an idea. If it's wrong then let's hear why. And let's hear how long we should remain in the status quo. Until when? Until what?

Sadly, if she dies or retires, we'll end up with something significantly worse. We'll get an AOC-type.

I believe you are correct except for one thing; winning elections. Nancy seems to have a bit of sense for the moderates and slower paced resistance and change when it comes to the general election. I know. I'm throwing up in my mouth as I say that but I believe powerful forces on the Left understand why Trump won and that "Being happy what's happening to oil" won't win elections on the national level.

To prove you're right all you have to do is type hydroxychloroquine on Google and you will see Bubba's article everywhere.

Wow, 11 of the first 12 "top stories" were bashing the drug. The 12th was neutral. I stopped scrolling. That's pathetic & I need to permanently stop googling. What are the other top search engines? It's been so long since I've used anything but google I have no idea.

I also have a google pixel which I rather like, but may move on to another brand when it's time to replace it.

With all of the tech and access to info like no other time in history and it's all wasted because libs and their news sources use it for propaganda purposes.
