I’m thinking he ultimately lands as a position coach at a mid-major program. Maybe a head coach, or better yet a DC, at a historically black college or an ivy. His strict disciplinarian style would also be suited to a scandal-marred program trying to clean up its image. He needs a smaller pond.

He should have enough in the bank to-retire at a small fine arts or Iffy League school and have time to enjoy life. Why do these guys have to keep jumping into a pressure cooker job? Hire me and pay me for five years and fire me after 3. Let me do that at 3 Texas like contracts and I will give you the one finger wave with a smike in my face.

I have to admit some genuine worry about the NFL and am glad to see Sark isn't going anywhere. He has a reputation now that is a huge boon for recruiting but it also means NFL teams will continue sniffing around so long as Texas continues to have success. If it means 12-13 plus win seasons every year it's a good problem to have.

Have to admit I was worried. From the outside it would seem NFL would be a much easier job---
no recruiting
no school/grade issues
no portal
nor transferring at the drop of a hat
no early entry to draft
no BMD and NIL money.

In NFL you have a team and a year to prep and play. I am glad he stayed and thrilled with the legacy/culture he is building

Me too. Consecutive final four appearances and defeating both OU and aggy in our first year in the SEC is a great accomplishment. To win it all in any given year will be a huge feat. We are right there.

We had the opportunity to beat Washington in the semi last year and had every chance to beat osu (and probably should have!) in the semi this year. We are indeed "right there."

He had 15,700 yards passing, 4th NCAA all time, 5700 in one season (2nd all time), 134 TDs (3rd), 8 outright NCAA records, was a Heisman Trophy finalist, averaged 486 yards per game in the three games he played against us—yeah, a great college player.

Also a great HS player, who held pretty much every Texas record, and now is second in most (to Garrett Gilbert, you know, that SMU QB).

Then there is Tech's appearance in the Gator Bowl, or should I say their TWO appearances (first half and second half) because it was two completely different games. WHY?

One of Mike Leach's greatest halftime "adjustments". What happened? Locker room dynamics attributed to one player, and NO he was the cause not the cure.

I don’t know much about Harrell. Was he a bad teammate ? I was just saying that with his stat lines, he’s an obvious College Hall of Fame candidate.
 
I’m sure Ron Dayne is in there and Andre Ware, etc.
But, too, probably guys like James Street get that honor, not from stats.@@@ Well, dang, I looked and I don’t think Street is in. Is it too late?

You were obviously not paying attention when Sabre discussed the Harrell family. I found few oldies but goodies for you that I bumped up.

Statistics are for people who know nothing about the game and cannot defend their position. Frequently the MVP of a team doesn't show up on any stat sheet. Where would VY have been without David Thomas & Kasey Studdard? In rehab all season!

We saw the cancer in our locker room that Herman just fed sugar to.

College HOF is a group of voters that have never seen a game and wouldn't understand it if they did. Read the stat sheet and vote.

Yes. HOF is part politics part stats and part “fame.” I really don’t care about Harrell, and please don’t think of me supporting him one way or the other. Usually, though HOF’s won’t leave a guy off if their stat metric is at or near the top of all time. I’m sure Carmelo Anthony is a shoe-in in his league….
 
A safe market bet would also be to sell short ANY head coach Jerrah hires. Already starting hear rumors of a really stupid pick.
The cowboys will continue to disappoint. Book it Danno.
