Coaching News and Rumors

RC is a great guy, and he and Emory represented A&M with more class than any two people in the administration combined. RC was a lot like Bobby Bowden in that you could call and he would talk to you about whatever for more time than you intended to spend.

RC has more friends among old Aggies and outside the school than the entire administration and athletic department combined. Lots of jealousy in Brazos County starting with not so Sharp all the way through; similar to Ken Dabbs and Bill Little in Austin.

Sabre?? Your thoughts?
RC is arguably their best coach ever, definitely with the most wins all-time (123) and SWC Coach of the Year 91-93, and they cast him aside because he wasn’t winning big enough and replaced him with Fran, followed by Sherman, Sumlin, Fisher, and now The Elk. He stuck around and was truly their 12th Man in time of need. Don’t know him personally, but seems to be a man of stellar character and loyalty.

Thank you. It seemed to me as a not very savvy fan that RC was not a big cheater .
Sorry. He and Scott Hill were the kings of kidnapping.

Can you say "Johnny Hector" boys and girls? Still hold that one against Jerry Stovall.

Bill Yoeman had two red Cadillacs out front of Bubba Bean's house in Kirbyville, when Bubba "disappeared". RC is a really good guy but could be slicker than oil when he had to be.

Grubb's offense at UW was basically "get the ball to Odunze and Polk" and that works. For a season.

It was about as good a coaching job as Bobby Kennedy for us in 2008-09. "Get the ball to Shipley." Makes you look like a genius when it works.

Is anyone surprised? And it has to include his sons. I don't post much... But I can't stand this egotistical idiot. He'll leave Colorado in an instant. It's too bad Colorado didn't realize that from the git go. Or I guess Colorado was happy for a couple of years in the limelight.

That school is so financially and ethically broke, they are just happy with the exposure he provided them and the increased ticket, beer, and advertising funds he provided.

Don't have to like the guy to admit CU was/is still broke in so many ways, it needed him more than he needed them.

Agreed. CU is in so much better shape now than when he arrived 2 years ago. If they can find the right “up and comer” replacement, they could be a competitive, winning program going forward.
And I don’t really blame him if the motive is for a chance to coach his son in the NFL. What father wouldn’t want to do that?

Agree 100%. The dude is all about himself and his family. Everything else — including his phony “faith,” is a tool to take advantage of anyone and everyone that will buy his schtick. That probably includes the Raiders.

The bandwagon support for ratings by ESPN & Fox (Joel Klatt, you’re a sellout), was nauseating, but fully predictable.

The only media type that has had the courage to tell the truth has been Jason Whitlock. Kudos to him.

Except for his kids, he had two different teams through the Portal. That isn't a recipe for success for any team.
