Coaching News and Rumors

Welcome Coach Chris Jackson to the forty acres!
The talent load is certainly here, now just bring them all up to their best abilities. They just need to be properly coached and supported.

My take on his job is to teach receivers how to find the ball and catch it. Plus he will be responsible for keeping the QB, RB, TE and Receiver Rooms on the same page as to what is attempting to be accomplished in the passing game.

If nothing else, his job is to keep multiple receivers separated by more than 5 years.

Youngstown State, home of some of college football's least desirable human beings.
And former home to one of the great offensive minds of the post-modern era. A man who looms large, very large, in the college offensive game of the past 20 or so years.

...and a guy who knows (or DOESN'T know; depending on perspective) what to do with his hands at the bar when his wife isn't around.

You mean he didn't inform them of this and return the money? :yikes:

At the beginning of each year, our employer sends out at least a couple of HR emails with something along the lines of "If you have gone through your paycheck and it doesn't match up with your contract terms, you must pay back the difference."

UTSU Do you have a problem with DKR's pic representing Longhorns?
Or George Washington or Abraham Lincoln representing USA?

Only one other person better represents the coverups, horrific incidents, Holier than thou attitude that drove Baylor to sweep the cocaine, academic fraud, sexual assaults, and resulting travesties perpetrated against the women of McLennan County under the rug and deny its existence than Ken Starr. Few would recognize that person's photo.

My pastor sat on the BOR in Waco. When he told me at church that Baylor had hired Starr and began to expound on his virtues, I just looked at him and said, "I truly hope you don't believe that ****".

Say,

I've got some oil wells this pastor of yours might be interested in...

He is no longer my pastor, but I'll tell him about the oil wells. Put it on the list right behind the fishing pier I'm selling him in Winkler County.

Well…

I’m thinking about an even bigger force in college football coaching over the past 25 or so years. I’m talking HUGE. He made a BIG splash wherever he went. A real HEAVY hitter. Much under appreciated—and mostly for stupid reasons. I used to argue on these boards that we should hire him (instead of Charlie or Herman).

Chop, there you go again - talking BIG like a real BIG man. SMH

Late to this thread...

Visited Youngstown several times on business in the late 70's. I would have been an alcoholic if I had to LIVE there in those days. IT WAS A DUMP!!!

Perhaps it is a little better today.

The Carolina Panthers get a new head coach ----> Frank Reich

"Owner David Tepper chose Reich, 61, after a search that included nine candidates, including interim head coach Steve Wilks and former New Orleans Saints coach Sean Payton.

It ultimately came down to Reich and Wilks, who went 6-6 after Matt Rhule was fired following a 1-4 start. Wilks was the sentimental favorite of Carolina players to get the full-time job."

Panthers choose Reich over Wilks as new coach

:miami::miami::miami::miami::miami:
"Offensive coordinator Josh Gattis came to the University of Miami from Michigan in February 2022 as the reigning recipient of the Broyles Award that goes to the nation’s top assistant coach in college football. On Friday morning, Miami coach Mario Cristobal announced in a one-sentence news release that Gattis “has been relieved of his duties as offensive coordinator.’’ The firing comes less than one year after he arrived and 11 days after it was announced that UM quarterbacks coach/passing game coordinator Frank Ponce was returning to Appalachian State as the offensive coordinator."
