Navy has fired offensive coordinator Grant Chesnut after just one year at the helm of the Navy offense. Navy's offense was less explosive than a dud torpedo. Sucks for that OC, but it needed to be done. The Middies need some offensive firepower to go with their good defense.

The conventional thinking is to look for another option offense guy. But, this could be the opportunity to find a spread offense guy...? To run an option, you must have a good option QB. That's been Navy's problem lately.

"New Mexico State defensive backs coach Cliff Odom is headed to Mississippi State as special teams coordinator Pete Thamel shares. Odom played at Baylor when Jeff Lebby was on staff there."

Odom spent a season at Texas Christian University as a defensive graduate assistant, also working with the Horned Frogs' secondary during the 2015 campaign.
