Coach Stephen Ambrose Sarkisian.......Staff

This pic immediately flashed me back to 10th grade. We had a French exchange student I started dating (I know..sounds made up) and we would always hang out at her house where her host family lived.
The "dad" was a real weird, introverted, quietly busy dude who was always locked up in this tiny, messy "office"(closet) busy at work on something.
Five or so years later I was back in town visiting for the weekend and someone mentioned his wealth and success. I inquired like,"Wha?!?", and was told he had invented the most popular video game in history at the time (appx 1994)...".Myst".

I'll be honest here. When I got to the part about you dating a French exchange student I was really hoping this would end up like a Letters to Penthouse article. 'Cause, you know, French girls and all...

The media shows its ignorance again. Blaming Yurcich for either Milroe's change of heart or JQJ's defection is borderline senile. Milroe moved on when Ewers committed and didn't move back when Ewers de-committed due to Herman's antics. JQJ saw Thompson and Card in practice every day and quickly figured out he would never replace either as QB number 1 so he moved on.

Let Ketchum blame Yurcich for the locker room being dirty, the private TVs in the individual lockers not getting the LHN, the shower water being cold, and whatever else he wants to piss on Yurcich for, but where the **** was HEAG COACH and offensive guru Tommy "Binder Boy" Herman while these QBs were fleeing? Shouldn't the HC have been in the middle of making sure Texas kept these kids?
Binder Boy was feverishly flipping through the binder looking for the page titled:
"What to do when an underclassmen QB transfers and a 5* QB recruit decommits."

Staff updates from 247...

- while Dennis Simmons could be tough to pry away from Norman even with Texas offering to double his salary, there is definitely mutual interest there despite Simmons being named Associate HC at OU in 2019 and he's coached with Lincoln Riley going back the Leach era at Texas Tech.

- Bo Davis is the leading candidate to coach the DL at Texas and has been offered the job, but he's holding off right now to see what other NFL opportunities there may be including what will happen with the Detroit Lions since they will be hiring a new head coach.

- Corey Raymond is open to leaving LSU because of all of the off-the-field turmoil going on there, plus the program having to replace its entire defensive staff.

- Alabama TEs coach, Jeff Banks, is not off the table for Texas just yet, and it's expected that his final decision will come early next week after the national title game. Banks' decision potentially affects what position Blake Gideon will coach due to his special teams experience

Two quick notes from IT last night...

- they believe Corey Raymond is the priority at the DB position despite the new talk of Derrick Ansley going around, and Texas has had more contact with Raymond to this point.

- they agree that Jeff Banks hasn't necessarily made the decision to stay at Alabama even though reports said otherwise earlier in the week

Rick,

I would submit to you that Binder Boy had given up by that time. He had quit recruiting, quit coaching, and was just collecting paychecks.

It this is all true about a chunk of the Alabama staff coming with Sark, it's a great sign for that side of the ball. If they are making the choice to come with him, it means they believe in him and his system. They see it as the path to their own ascension up the coaching ranks. This is an excellent signal. The continuity of personnel will be a big help. They will hit the ground running, freeing Sark's time from having to teach it all to a bunch of news guys. So this part seems to be in great shape.

Defense is another story. In this conference, you can have a great offense, tops in the NCAA, and still lose games. Of the names mentioned, Raymond, Lupoi and Bo Davis are all great recruiters. They are all good coaches too, but how well would they work together? If we did add those three, I think you can make an easy argument to retain both Ash and Huztler. This way we would improve recruiting while having some level of continuity on that side of the ball. IMO, Ash did get better over time. When he saw things he was doing were not working, he changed them. And Hutz was probably our best assistant. It can work.
Or perhaps they just don't appreciate the "*** chewings".

That didn't take long. Based on his success at aOSU and the new Texas HS contacts he has made, State Penn could be a B1G contender quickly.
This guy, Yurcich, is way overrated in my opinion. Years at OSU were average and he only called plays for 1-2 years. He didn’t call plays at tOSU, and his year at Texas, ???. Yes he scored some points but way underutilized Bijan, the star of the offense.

I am guessing that it was Herman that had a lot to do with that.
Herman has these man crushes I e Sam and Roschon.
Herman is super loyal to those who sacrifice and work hard and upperclassmen.

Per Hamilton at IT, Alabama source saying Jeff Banks should be staying in Tuscaloosa.

Not as confident as they were that WRs coach, Holmon Wiggins, will be leaving for Texas

Anxious to see since he coaches safeties, which is what Gideon was thought to be pegged for.

Joseph is a Louisiana native and got Noil to A&M during Sumlin's tenure.

I think Gideon will be straight up Special Teams, which IMO has been missing and needed.

Roach thinks they spilt duties

Still hoping for Raymond to coach DBs?

He and Joseph are friends, they were both GAs together at LSU in 2006
At ND, they had a separate CB coach, despite the same job title for Joseph there as here - Defensive Passing Game Coordinator
The LSU people actually thought Joseph was coming there to coach with Raymond
So it's still possible

Nahlin says that if "Texas had it's way, they would announce the DC after the CCG."

If true (and Nahlin is not always reliable) but if so then it suggests Golding as DC
