Coach Stephen Ambrose Sarkisian.......Staff

Football Scoop says Sark is indeed after Raymond

Sources tell FootballScoop that Sark has made a very strong offer to bring LSU defensive backs coach Corey Raymond to Texas.

LSU parted ways with defensive coordinator Bo Pelini shortly after the season ended. Safeties coach Bill Busch will not return and defensive line coach Bill Johnson is moving into a different role and will not be one of the countable coaches moving forward.

Orgeron is meeting with Cincinnati defensive coordinator Marcus Freeman today and stated on Baton Rouge radio earlier this week Freeman was his primary target for the job. Will be interesting to see if Orgeron can land Freeman; and if they can retain Corey Raymond
Sources: Steve Sarkisian making strong push to hire key LSU assistant

Raymond is an even better recruiter than Tosh. Give him and Davis the Houston area then watch out.

TFB added that Corey Raymond always has other schools coming after him this time of year, but it could be different this time with everything going on at LSU.

If Raymond were to leave, LSU would have a brand new defensive staff top to bottom.

LSU's Elias Ricks, originally from California, is apparently looking to leave LSU and he'd be a candidate to follow Raymond to Austin.

I hope someone gets him the message that
(1) The coach at the directional LA school is very good
(2) The piglets hate us with the passion of a thousand suns and will be bleeding from the the eyeballs when we parachute into in "Fayettenam"
Would suck to start he new era 0-2

(note: games are not in order)

Slight correction
IT is saying he will be the strength coach.
They expect Sark to hire a separate conditioning coach and split duties
Just like Bama does.

On this idea (which is not yet confirmed), Alabama hired a PhD in sports science to work with their players using technology. We do some of this ourselves, but not at this same level of commitment. Sounds like that may be changing.

Yep. That first game against the Enraged Acadians is no cake walk. Only Rice and Kansas are cupcakes next year.

I personally do not think Sark will push very hard for the Brocks, question the legality of doing so, and doubt seriously any success will be had there.
Now Ewers is a possibility.. though it would surprise me somewhat with Ohio State's current success

If Day darts off to the NFL in the next year or so, there's definitely a chance.

Don't you think we will be favored in every game except for the red River shootout?
We are going to rock and roll with Sark and Thompson and Bijan.
Dominoes gonna fall.

Someone, maybe CDC, needs to explain to Sark what a resource and wealth of knowledge he has at his disposal here at Hornfans. A Zoom call would give him an opportunity to:

A. Get to know us.
B. Begin the process of tapping into that wealth of knowledge.

How about he just get an account with a sponsorship? Then he'd have everyday access to our genius. And on Sundays after losses, we could have an airing of grievances, ala Festivus.

And by week 3 we can tell him to start QB2, doesn’t matter who QB2 is- we are Longhorns and that our tradition as much as the Aggie whooping and swaying.

That's a great plan but we still need the Zoom call to appropriately introduce him to us. That's the only way he will be properly impressed.

I certainly feel better about the game against Arky. I had oki lite as a toss up and feel better about that one as well.

Ketch producing another potential DB hire --

In talking to a couple of different sources about the vacant defensive backs job, I've been told that current Tennessee defensive coordinator Derrick Ansley is a coach of interest for Steve Sarkisian. One source I spoke with on Thursday night believes that Ansley is ahead of LSU cornerbacks coach Corey Raymomd....

Ansley has three things really going for him.
a. He's a monster defensive backs coach and regarded as one of the best young defensive coordinators in college football.
b. He's a monster recruiter.
c. He's a Jimmy Sexton client.
d. He wants out of Tennessee from what we're hearing.

Seems like 4 things

Texas 247 with another potential WR coach hire -- and Sark's former BYU teammate - Dennis Simmons, the current ou receivers coach. He joined ou in 2015 (after working with Leach). Helped Dede Westbrook win the Biletnikoff in 2016 and Ceedee Lamb win the Biletnikoff in 2019. He was elevated to "associate head coach" at ou in the spring of 2019. Simmons is considered a strong recruiter.

And what an impressive bunch we are

This pic immediately flashed me back to 10th grade. We had a French exchange student I started dating (I know..sounds made up) and we would always hang out at her house where her host family lived.
The "dad" was a real weird, introverted, quietly busy dude who was always locked up in this tiny, messy "office"(closet) busy at work on something.
Five or so years later I was back in town visiting for the weekend and someone mentioned his wealth and success. I inquired like,"Wha?!?", and was told he had invented the most popular video game in history at the time (appx 1994)...".Myst".

Kingmakers and Kingbreakers we are...

(Think we should start a thread called "hornfans:caption this picture")

I'll start...
Joe Fan-
"Bye, Coach..Don't ever refer to me as a cliched generality again. I am...Joe Fan"

What’s more unlikely, you dating a French girl or the guy getting rich developing a video game? :smokin:
