Coach Stephen Ambrose Sarkisian.......Staff

This pic immediately flashed me back to 10th grade. We had a French exchange student I started dating (I know..sounds made up) ...

Is this her?

Texas 247 with another potential WR coach hire -- and Sark's former BYU teammate - Dennis Simmons, the current ou receivers coach. He joined ou in 2015 (after working with Leach). Helped Dede Westbrook win the Biletnikoff in 2016 and Ceedee Lamb win the Biletnikoff in 2019. He was elevated to "associate head coach" at ou in the spring of 2019. Simmons is considered a strong recruiter.

Both Chip and Gerry have now said the ou WR coach may be be in play

On Freeman as DC -- the Bearcat 247 (Cinci) seems to have a handle on the situation with Freeman. He says Texas is in the picture.
He is telling his people to expect a decision next week even though ND and LSU were pushing for his signature this week.

I hope this guy is right, but based on his tenure at Texas before I would say that's a bit of an exaggeration.

Bamafan still loves him. They think Bo was one of their best assistants ever. The only reason he left was because he had to (lol). There is another rumor that Saban wanted him back now (so did LSU), but the conference forbade it (again, lol). And this is how we got him.

Well let's not forget about Charlie Strong. :whiteflag:

Those were the days. Arguing whether a former HS coach or former sooner should take over our play calling. And sending a private jet with the school president to Tulsa to beg

Now we calmly discuss whether we should take Saban's DC

IT comments on the DC

Mississippi State’s Zach Arnett is another name at the forefront. Known as a young up and comer, Arnett impressed in the suddenly explosive SEC in his first year. Football people we talk to characterize him as a great fit, not only for the Big 12, but UT’s current personnel. San Diego State, where Arnett spent years, was actually at the forefront of the defense largely popularized by Iowa State. With Sarkisian and CDC looking to put together a recruiting monster, Arnett would provide the necessary coaching and schematic IQ. Texas isn’t the only school to take note. Notre Dame has shown interest, as has South Carolina, which he declined. Miss State is pressing hard for him to remain in Starkville and that’s still a possibility. As long as he’s at Mississippi State, his name will likely be associated with any bigger openings, like perhaps Oregon. We’ve even heard the possibility of Alabama if Pete Golding leaves. Clearly he’s turned heads in Tuscaloosa. Arnett is seen as a good fit for the state from a personality standpoint. He may not be a recruiting superstar but he’d be good, especially with the football-serious. Positive selection, imo.

We haven’t heard much actual info on Alabama’s Pete Golding potentially following Sarkisian to Austin but it’s only natural to speculate, especially since Muschamp’s declination lengthened the process and Golding will technically be available next Tuesday. Maybe the timeline is telling us it’s Golding. With the big game looming, if this hire was to be made, it would stay as quiet as possible.

To our knowledge, no formal offer has been extended to a defensive coordinator. But with the activity at other positions, that doesn’t really make sense, does it? There’s a chance a dark horse candidate is waiting to pounce on an offer in the coming days. Maybe it’s Dan Quinn, who we’ve heard would enthusiastically return to the college game.

We haven’t heard that Chris Ash has been formally released. That’s probably the best sign they don’t have a DC locked u

This coaching carousel is a little nerve wracking. It doesn't help that Alabama is still going through the playoffs. I hope that we get the best recruiters, I'm sure they can coach.
I am wondering who will have the honor of being Sark's first recruit to sign

TFB's Super K on ou WR coach Dennis Simmons --

I spoke to sources regarding this and am told that this was more than just interest. I’m told that Texas offered Simmons the job and apparently for a substantial pay increase.

My early sense from folks around the (ou) program is that Simmons is likely to stay put at (ou). However, I’m told that the amount offered was so significant that it’s something he would have to at least entertain.

That should get okie tongues wagging. Nice to see them pucker up a bit

Also, if TFB has anything, it is good ou sources

More --
Don’t quote me on this but what I gather from sources on the (ou) side that Simmons was offered like double what (ou) pays him. So, yeah I’d say Sark has a fat checkbook.

Again, TFB has solid ou sources

Let Ketchum blame Yurcich for the locker room being dirty, the private TVs in the individual lockers not getting the LHN, the shower water being cold, and whatever else he wants to piss on Yurcich for, but where the **** was HEAD COACH and offensive guru Tommy "Binder Boy" Herman while these QBs were fleeing? Shouldn't the HC have been in the middle of making sure Texas kept these kids?
