Coach Prime

All

Sorry, I brought it up.

Longhorn Dave

PS, based on my past experience, Colorado fans will be snow skiing at the first snow and not in the stands, even when they go bowling.

After they play real opposition, he will look more like Coach Select.

CU was a three TD dog at TCU. They were picked to lose to NU by most here. And they were slight favorites against their rival CSU. None of those teams is Top 20 but all are legit competition. Especially for a team that most folks thought (before the season started) would be 0-3 now instead of 3-0.

Is he flashy and boastful? Yes. Has his product backed him up with their performance? Yes. Will he lose to top ten teams? Yes. Will he win more games than he loses this year? Likely.

His team is disciplined, they are well coached. His son is a fine QB, poised and focused. His other son is a very good DB. Dion is composed on the sidelines. I see no problem with him or his team.

If CU goes 6-5 or 7-4 he will get votes for Coach of the Year.

That's because Vegas had no idea about TCU or Colorado in week 1, and all the retail fans who bet did so based on last year's results.

I didn't look closely at HF sentiments in week 2, but I was on record saying the hype train will pick up steam after CU whips up on yet another moribund Nebraska team.

I'm still on record saying we will see more of the truth of CU's place in the world after these next two games. With their 2 way star hurt, I don't like CU's chances very much.

Deion certainly has a grasp of the moment.
After Norvell made the remark about sunglasses Deion gave his team shades and of course spoke about it in interviews.
The sunglass company sold 1.2 million worth the next day. Deion likely gets a cut BUT that is opportunistic marketing
I wonder what Norvell's cut is.

Deion said the CSU defender who hurr Travis should not be getting death threats
That he had played a great game
It is football. Was just a young man living life.
Deion hoped no CU fans were part of any threats.
Many kudos to Deion. He knows he has a big microphone and he used it in a very good way

I didn’t watch enough of the game to see which team was dirty and which wasn’t. Seems like both were chippy, but I see on X both are playing the victim. Novell’s comments directed squarely at Prime were unnecessary and silly, I thought.

I'd say it was 65-35 with CSU being the 65. I think Norvell wanted them to come out swinging pipes.

I saw this on twitter. Times they have changed a little.

Isn’t that the game Texas should have played in if not for the thieving thieves?

From ESPN.com:

"Colorado's double-overtime victory against Colorado State, which ended in the early hours of Sunday in most of the country, drew 9.3 million viewers to make it the most-watched late-night college football game ever on ESPN.

Coach Deion Sanders' Colorado team did not kick off until after 10 p.m. ET and did not secure the victory until about 2:30 a.m.

Still, it was ESPN's fifth-most-watched regular-season game ever on the network for any time slot. That broadcast window for ESPN college football averaged about 1.7 million viewers last year."

So, they didn't say, but most of their viewers were east coast? Since they're using EST? West coast started at 7pm.

I suspect the new buzz around Colorado played a part including the Game Day hype but I also think Colorado has a large alumni and "fan" base in California.

Prime alluded to some drama at the hand shake. I was waiting for that.

I will also say that our fraternity hosted numerous guests from traveling schools (no Longhorns, obvi) and the Colorado chapter was the WORST. They were huge dicks. This was circa 1989.

And central time.

In my head ESPN is over thinking how many New Yorkers were up at 2am. Just noting the apparent bias that they led with EST times

What fraternity?

Damn, that Jeff dude is an idoit. He doesn't represent me one bit. I like seeing Deion succeed. Not because of what color he is, but because he's doing it the right way by instilling values, discipline and accountability.

Some people might not like his style. He's not the usual.

But I agree about his coaching

I like that he talks big but he backs it up. I think he is good for college football. He is the entertainment we lost when Mike The Pirate Leach died.
I don’t think you can compare Leach and Sanders at all. For all his pirate antics, Leach still had some human dignity. Sanders is just slobbering all over his own knob.

Will be interesting to see how CU responds to being down 3 TDs. They just picked off the Oregon QB.
