Wonder what the WAPO got for this one?
(Democracy dies in what?)
Is that Sylvester Stallone?
This. Corporations don't see themselves as being a "US Corporation that does business overseas" anymore...they see themselves as "Global companies". I work for a very large US bank and I can tell you that this is the way we see ourselves now. We are increasingly putting foreigners in very high positions in the main arteries of the bank, not just high positions within their region. And it shows up in the initiatives we pursue.Wow seriously? Corprotocracy has really out flanked national soeverignty.
Even when we limit immigration to people that have high qualifications, what we are really doing is importing people who don't really have America's interest at heart in these deliberations. They may have the proper permissions to work here and they may even eventually attain citizenship...but in their heart their priority isn't America. At the very least, they often have dual loyalties to the US and their home country. At worst, they see America only as a piggy bank and their true loyalty still lies with their home country.
I think the assumption of US corporations is the liberal assumption, that we are all the same, we have the same values, the same motivations. It just happens to be that the culture assume is American. However, those not who are not American do not see the world the same way.
I think it is becoming a problem because most other cultures don't value the profit motive and freedom like we do.
The fact that US corporations are so global really is a testament to how successful our culture and these corporations are. They (we) have been so successful that they are doing business all over the world. The success is causing is the source of problems though.
LeBron: Morey 'misinformed' before China tweet
LeBron is an idiot fraud of a social justice warrior.
The tweeters say he knows exactly what he is doing.LeBron seems like a very ignorant person about politics. He truly is if he has a shred of sympathy for the ChiCom government. I mean he wore a "Beto" hat in 2018. Sounds like he has a flair for playing the useful idiot character.
I friggin hate when smug, douchie SJW types say someone who disagrees with him or her is "uneducated" or "ignorant." It's so pretentious and silly.
By "people need to understand what a tweet or statement can do to others" I am pretty sure he means "affect his income"
All for one line of one tweet that basically said "I favor democracy"
Anything between 3-6% is not a great number for a developing economy. If China is reporting 6% growth that means it is probably 3% or less.
If they are really growing at 6%, that is awesome. There economy is maturing so the growth numbers are going to come down a bit.
The NBA needs to divorce itself from China. Businesses should be free to conduct business wherever, but if a bad actor starts manipulating that business to do unAmerican things, that business should kindly say, "bye bye".
That's a good one.
