Chick Fil A was packed this morning

Ok we get it, you don't like the social agenda of the Republicans. You are probably half african american, half latino, 1/3 atheist, 1/3 jewish and 1/3 catholic and you are getting ready to have your penis glued on right after your abortion, on disability and unemployement and trying to figure out how to get more food stamps.

We get it, we get it, congratulations you can vote your conscience and quit pretending your are slightly left of center.

LOL.

Nope, not bi-racial, agnostic atheist. Socially liberal, fiscally conservative. Nothing I have said is against that definition. I believe you will find many people that describe themselves this way.

Good to see the crowds at Chick-Fil-A today. The whole idea of a boycott was an overreaction by pantywaste, hypersensitive libs who are always looking for some "cause" to stand up for. The man only said that he supports traditional marriage between a man and woman. That is his belief. The call for a boycott by the thin-skinned wimps on the left is a new bedwetting low even for them. I wonder if they know how absolutely ridiculous they appear. No, I doubt it. Well, at least common sense is the order of the day today. Maybe it'll catch on.

You people that actually side with Rham Emmanuel and others on this issue truly need to be evaluated. Stop being such a slave to the dogma of political correctness. It makes you look like a fool.

meh, I bet the place looks "packed" every day if these corpulent gentlemen are representative of CFA's customer base.

This whole thing has been way overblown. I completely ignored the issue until about 5 days ago when members of the government began to get involved.

A private citizen has every right to express his or her belief. A private citizen also has to face repercussions if he/she owns a business and, thus, upsets people that may have otherwise frequented his business. Point being, he had every right to say what he said just as those on the opposite side have every right to boycott and raise a stink about it. Those that favor his viewpoint have every right to frequent his business in support of his viewpoint.

Where the line was crossed was when mayors of some cities began to insist that Chick Fil A lose its ability to do business in their cities. THAT is a violation of the Constitution. And, THAT is why I took my family to Chick Fil A today. And what's especially troubling to me is that, while Rahm Emanuel bitched and moaned about Chick Fil A, he was welcoming an obvious racist, Muslim into his city hall with open arms. I only point out Farrakahn's religion due to the fact that Islam is even more adamantly opposed to homosexuality than most hard core Christian denominations. Not too many beheadings these days in the U.S. for being gay. Let's also not forget that Chicago is the most violent city this side of Damascus these days leading me to believe Emanuel may have more important fish to fry.

Anyway, I feel exactly the same way in regards to what is going on here in TN per the construction of mosques. People can ***** and moan all they want - their right. However, when members of the State government try to institute laws banning the mosque(s) they are completely wrong.

BTW, the line was out of both doors and into the street. The drive thru line wrapped around the building twice and into the major street in front of it.

MichTex:

What an amazing sense of humor. The depth and scope of you post will have me eagerly anticipating your next contribution.

Party of tolerance making fun of people because of they way they look, way to go Mich!!!!!! I bet you are glad they aren't black, you could have been called a racist, you just hate fat people.

When I was a kid about 25 years ago, I remember that people would say that blacks and whites shouldn't get married to one another. Strangely enough, I heard some of the same arguments based in religion used today to keep gays from getting married. I'm pretty sure that most of those that opposed interracial marriage have changed their mind over the decades. Im also pretty sure that most opponents of gay marriage will at least come to terms with it.

Larry, marriage issues are still everywhere. I know of whites that are opposed to interracial marriage. I know of blacks that are opposed to interracial marriage. I know of Jews that believe their children should only marry Jews. I know of Italians that believe their children should only marry Italians. Heck, I know of white people that think their children shouldn't marry other whites because they were Irish. I know of Cuban immigrants who refused to let their children marry other Cubans because of race.

I am not personally friends with all of these, but over the past 10 years or so have had discussions with them. Whether race, religion, or whatever belief this marriage issue will never be solved. We don't live in Utopia and never will. As long as humans have free will to think we will have opinions and someone else will disagree. We will never all think the same way.

FWIW I could care less who marries who. It's just not worth it to me because I have enough problems of my own to worry about.

A gay couple can file taxes together, nothing is stopping them from doing that, survivor benefits, health benefits(at most companies) etc

Larry:

The point we are making is that we don't care of they choose to call themselves married or have a civil union, we are saying the government should not be in the business of "Marriage". You should be able to marry whatever or whoever or how many ever people you want. The government should be in the Union business or the License business, not Marriage.
