Chance of Football in 2020

So back when this thread started I went all the way out on a limb and said 80% chance we have some kind of season in 2020. What are yalls predictions? In % terms.

50% like everything in life. Only slightly kidding but I’m pulling for a season. Optimistically I made all my hotel res for the year. Nice cause rates are back down since the race is cancelled and lots of rooms available.

And then there is this for another woman in her 20’s:

Spring Branch, TX. (July 22, 2020)- Amy Shypailo was killed in a multi-vehicle crash on July 19, 2020 in Spring Branch, Texas. The crash occurred just before 7:50 a.m. at the Katy Freeway and Gessner Road intersection. Police reported that the driver of a Nissan Sentra was traveling eastbound on the feeder road when they ran a red light and crashed into a Mazda 3 driven by Shypailo. The impact pushed the Mazda into a Toyota RAV4 that was stopped at the light. Shypailo was declared dead at the scene. No other injuries were reported. The driver of the Sentra was arrested on suspicion of intoxication manslaughter. The crash remains under investigation.

Tragic.
But we were discussing Covid-19.
And I've never heard anybody argue that young people rarely, if ever, die by auto accident.
It's only the aged and with underlying conditions that crash their cars. :rolleyes1:
It's ok to not be so myopic.

95% there will be a season
78.25% it will be in the Fall and "on schedule"

Bizarre to say the least. I read that article Moon, thanks for sharing. So many things in it are baffling. This is a truly remarkable, in the medical sense, disease. Prayers that woman pulls through, but the article states double lung transplant patients may “live another year”.

Likewise. We don’t shut down schools when kids get killed when driving to school in their car. Note the thread is about shutting things down due to covid.

My 10 year old nephew tested positive. He’s in the back yard climbing trees, bored. He doesn’t understand why he had to sit home from summer camp he was signed up for this week. Zero symptoms and he can’t pass it on to anyone.

Past Seasons Estimated Influenza Disease Burden | CDC
The flu causes approximately 50-60k deaths a year. This includes the “entire “ flu season which is September thru March, and it always subsides over the summer months.
Covid-19 is at 150k deaths, with no summer decline, and only 1/2 of a Season we are nearing 3x the deaths. By the time we’re into November we will be well over 200k deaths.
Now evidence is clear that covid19 may cause serious lingering symptoms, especially in younger patients. And appears to cause cognitive problems in older patients that may last beyond respiratory problems.
One thing scientists agree on is that covid19 is very DIFFERENT from the flu in that multiple organ systems may be harmed. Along with the possibility of blood clotting concerns which can arise.
The good news is that scientists from around the world are working on understanding this disease.
Hopefully by this time next year we will be over the hump, maybe a vaccine that is safe and effective.

Most of these tragic cases with young folks happened in March or April, before the virus apparently weakened. Unless there are recent cases, the example you gave may be irrelevant.

I keep picturing you with pop poms, jumping around yelling " 2,4,6,8 Covid-19's really great!
Gooooooooo COVID!!
It is not weaker.
I have read it's mutating into even more infectious forms.
This virus can kill anyone at anyrime
Yes, the aged and those with underlying conditions are most at risk.
But it still seems to randomly pick someone that shouldn't be affected and fucks them up.
If you can't admit that then you are in extreme denial.

More infectious means less lethal. Look it up.

Science says kids should be in school. Didn’t realize you were a science denier.

I have accused folks of mind reading before but very few actually admit it.
