The nice thing here is that most commentators think that FSU got screwed (and they’re not wrong), but also think that Alabama - not Texas - is the villain.
A lot runs through and piles up in Lubbock.Hey y’all don’t forget that it all ran through Lubbock!
I feel so sorry for Travis and FSU.
With the current system someone good was going to be out of 4.
selfishly happy the Committee made the right decision with Texas
Pure class through and through! We are truly blessed that Sark is our man. When we were listening to Sark's interview, I told my wife that we should be forever grateful to CDC for hiring the right man for the job. I'm proud that he represents our Longhorns.I hope everyone got to see Sark's interview on ESPN just now. It's easy to love a guy when he wins for you, but wow. We've got a special guy here now.
Well, had my New Orleans hotel reservation booked by 11:45 this morning. Now just hoping to score access to tickets!
About a week's worth of Jimbo's guaranteed salary. What is Sark’s bonus for playoff?
Joey Gallaway made a point there. With Travis, FSU is average at best. As evidenced last night with 55 yds passing against Louisville.
Can't even imagine what it feels like to be a Georgia fan right now.
Remember the last season where we blew out TT at home and played in the Sugar bowl (1995), we played VT with the infamous Ron McKelvey story. It is a plus IF Sark can keep them out of the Quarter...
If Texas rushes three and hangs that secondary out to dry it will be a long night.Apparently they havent seen our pass defense. Penix is incredibly accurate and I worry he may light up our 10 yard cushion db's.
We’ve been screwed before. Welcome to the club.FSU got screwed, there's no getting around that
Imagine if we went undefeated and won the conference, then got left out
Which is why Sark should have never taken his foot off the gas in the 2nd half.Rewatching Gundy's post game presser, and he kept saying Texas was "explosive," even more explosive than they appear on tape. He repeated that several times. And that is what struck me about watching most of the games this weekend--Texas has way more talent and depth in the skill positions than these other contenders.
Yes, which is why I wanted Bama to win in case FSU won.The cool thing is there is zero discussion about whether Texas is deserving or not. I'm listening to ESPN and it's like a total given that we are one of the top four teams in America. They're obsessing over FSU getting bumped. They're not even saying an undefeated FSU should be higher than Texas.
Mighty gracious of you!In case anyone might have been wondering, Dukesteer is very, very, very, very, very happy. Wish the semi was here at Pasadena so I could just drive up the 5 to the 405 to the 605 to the 210, off at Colorado, but I’ll take New Orleans.
The Texas-Bama NC game didn’t get delayed until Colt was healed. We’ve been screwed in 2008 and 2009. It happens.Overjoyed to see the Longhorns in the CFP - they earned it.
I feel the heartache for Florida State - they're the undefeated champ of a Power 5 conference. Yes, they experienced a major injury late in the season. Yet they sucked it up and found a way to win without their starting QB - maybe the wins were ugly, but they were nevertheless wins. Florida State can say this - " we had a schedule to play, we played it, and we won every game, even when we had to cope with a significant injury - what more could we have done?"
But the committee was charged with picking the four best teams to play in the CFP - and without their starting QB, Florida State is not one of the four best. Florida State would simply not be competitive with Michigan, Washington, Texas, or Alabama without the starting QB. Sucks for Florida State - but IMO the committee got it right.
College football has continued to embarrass themselves with “The Committee” process. It was a dumb idea and now they admit it and will make a change next year. What took so ling?FSU got screwed, there's no getting around that
Imagine if we went undefeated and won the conference, then got left out
Yes, but nobody else bought that idea. And, this must all be fake because we were assured by someone else around here that Texas's ONLY chance was a Georgia win AND FSU loss.
There is a certain irony in watching some claim that 13-0 doesn't matter when some of us were mentioning the eyeball tests when Texas was 8-1, 9-1, 10-1. We got told wins were all that mattered...and FSU did just that- they won. Ugly, but won.I just don't see why anyone here is saying FSU got screwed. That was one of the poorest performances last night that I have ever seen. Any of the top 4 would beat that very team by 3 TDs at least. Did you see how bad Louisville is and the game was in doubt until very late? Having their 2nd string QB certainly could not eleveate them to top 4 in the country RIGHT NOW. Time to move on...

They suck NOW. They are NOT top 4. I usually agree with you but not here. There is a certain irony in watching some claim that 13-0 doesn't matter when some of us were mentioning the eyeball tests when Texas was 8-1, 9-1, 10-1. A body of work SHOULD count for something.
