Bo Davis audio…NSFW

The way I saw Xavier play against OU, bounce back and continue to play with passion and effort and his play on last drive, I thought we had a true baller and a dog who cared about the game. I think the profile pic helps solidify that opinion

This sort of coach reaction to post-loss tomfoolery is as old as football. Obviously, not all coaches respond in this manner, but on just about every team I've seen or been a part of, coaches tend to fall into the categories of good cops and bad cops. IMO, you need both. And when a certain level of sloppiness, disinterest, or flippancy start showing up, I would expect at least one of the bad cops to escalate.

In Texas' case, this is probably the latest episode and we happened to get a glimpse of it.

While I may not absolutely love this approach with respect to language, sometimes a little attention-getter is required. I'm going to give the coaches the benefit of the doubt that they know their kids, know the locker room well enough. Kid gloves and a soft touch have gotten us here. Now what?

Yeah, I have no problem with Coach Davis on this one. What I do have a gripe about is this video made it to the public. It is a major violation of team and locker room etiquette and cannot stand. Not to mention it's an embarrassment a player from this program thought it worthwhile to share with the public. To me, this explains a lot about what we've seen on the field.

To the individual or individuals responsible, I say good riddance. Hit the portal as soon as possible. It cannot happen soon enough.

I understand the individual was not a starter nor a big contributor and has been summarily dismissed. Sark decided and the player's leadership council agreed.

I say thank you to the player who recorded this and sharing

In the coaching bidness, we call it, “addition by subtraction.”

I would guess whoever it was had to be some kind of contributor, otherwise he wouldn’t be on the travel squad.. Just my guess..

Bucky said on the Horn this morning the player was said to have minimal playing time this year and was not much of a contributor at all.

I still hope we get to find out who it was eventually. We will probably able to deduce it somehow.
I also wonder if it was the players who turned the offender in or how that went down.
I like to think the players had to shake some trees to get Sark his man.

There was a name old coaches have for those kids. “Steak eaters” were just along for the ride and the chicken fried steak they had for the team meal.. or ROYs “Rest of y’all..”

Kind of sounds like if he was a big contributor, maybe he would still be on the team.

I would almost rather hear that. Really set a tone and example that being a starter or whatever doesn't mean you get to film a coach and then post it to social media.

Well, the info I heard didn't come out of Sark's mouth. So the issue of mentioning how big a contributor he was didn't originate on the coaching staff, as far as I know.

I see hic's point
IF it had been a big contributor and still got voted against by the team council that would send imo the right message. No One is more important than the team.
With the caveat that it was done to harm Sark and staff

I agree with that in principal. But as a practical matter, it isn't what happened.

Some of you know me! Some of you don’t! But I just come to my fellow Hornfans with following! I found this extremely interesting:

“Listening to CFB XM and they said Texas is expecting around 40 guys to hit the transfer portal. Sark is taking a blow torch to the Texas roster and starting from scratch.”

It’s gonna get WORSE before it gets better!
Maybe? Maybe not!

Signed,

Woodword & Bernstein

Can we get a "You need to enter the mutha f'n transfer portal emoji?

or maybe
