Big XII Expansion

The most desirable and doable have huge conference buyouts. There is a possibility that Fred Smith would pay one buyout if Memphis could tag along. However, since his son is no longer the QB, that possibility has dwindled considerably. To buyout four teams would be over $100 million. Possibly get Nebraska back and figure a way to raise the money to buyout FSU, Clemson and GT, but to get their interest, there needs to be a house cleaning in Las Colinas, because those three will NEVER trust anyone in that office again.

The Big 12: One Truly Dumb Conference.

The OU-Okie State thing is the perfect example of why this is so dumb. What good does having your #1 and #2 teams play two weeks in a row do? It will either eliminate the winner of game 1 or be entirely meaningless because what does beating the same team twice in a week prove?

Texas needs to go independent.

Also greed is really ruining college football.

The only benefit of the CCG is to the BigTen, ACC, SEC, & PAC12, as the Big XII stands the opportunity to eliminate it's champion from consideration for the playoff because of a worthless game for TV. Ain't like beating a team for the second time in the same season will boost your power ratings.

Does anyone remember that worthless Friday night game in Omaha? How many times did it cost us the championship? All for TV.

Note to Bowelsby - DUMBASS, quit whoring our conference to make it look like you do anything besides spend money frivolously.

Anybody feel like Sabre needs a hug sometimes? :smile1: Just kidding, I know you're not this angry in real life :hookem:. This team is making us all nuts, that's for sure.

On this issue Sabre is right on. There is NO good in Big12, which is stupid enough to still call itself 12, championship game beyond the revenue aspect. And yes, if Horns were in it and I could get there I would go but if we had already beaten the team we were about to play I would be angry the entire trip and if we lost I would be livid.

If I went to Austin and saw Texas beat TCU on Thanksgiving, then Texas turned around and had to play TCU again a week later, I do not know that I would be interested in going to see and paying for the exact same game I just saw.

I attended the 1999 and 2005 Big 12 championships. Honestly, after seeing us win the 2005 championship, I had very little desire in ever attending a Big 12 title game again. I attended 9 games in 05 including OU, @A&M, the Big 12 title and the rose bowl. I attended 9 games on 08 including OU and @UTEP. I attended 9 games in 09 including OU, @A&M and the Rose Bowl. I even travelled to Nebraska in 2010.

I am willing to pay and travel. However, I was done with Big 12 title games after 05 and skipped Jerryworld in 09. I have no interest in a rematch with nothing to gain.

Also, Texas and OU playing outside of the cotton bowl and state fair is a crime against football.

Another dumbass politician (is there any other kind) trying to force something about which he has no knowledge so he can receive a few more dollars. He should be banned from ever entering The Great Republic or be given the Donnie Duncan Award.

I am against Big 12 expansion and think it should stay as it is. That said, I said way back when that after BYU, USF and UCF were the most viable options. I do not think we should add them and am not advocating for that. However, they are the best two options of a bad expansion decision.

If possible, I'd like to bring Arkansas and Nebraska back into the fold.

They're not winning lots of games at the moment, but they have a pedigree and they both have historical ties to parts of the Big 12.

I take the position that the B12 should die a normal death, and disband. I believe this will happen in 3-4 years. Most of the schools will be picked up by the other power conferences with the exception of 2 or 3. So, no to expansion.

Florida State and Clemson in 2025.

After the **** show that Bobbie Bowelsby and Chuckie NeinASS pulled, neither will trust anyone West of the Mississippi until everyone in Las Colinas is fired and has ZERO influence. This time, instead of the Sons of Klem and Florida Normal School for Girls submitting paperwork, someone they trust is going to have to fill out the papers and deliver them to be signed along with a plan to pay off the ACC, unless they can find "cause" with Swofford's actions.

They will, however, trust Oliver Luck.

Also...we own those *******!
This is the only valid criteria for Big 12 expansion. The trend these days is 14 teams per conference so the Big 12 should add

Arkansas (Texas won 72% of games)
Nebraska (Texas won 71% of games)
Texas A&M (Texas won 67% of games)

and

Alabama (Texas won 88% of games)

[All ties ignored.]

Sadly gotta leave BYU, USC, and Notre Dame off the expansion list.
