Big 12 WBB Tournament 2024

Does anyone know why we chose to wear our road burnt orange uniforms on Saturday versus Kansas? Found that very unusual as we've never even worn them at home.
Because at the tourney they switch “home” and “visitor” teams designations, NOT always based on the seeding…If I’m not mistaken, we were considered the visitors yesterday…

If that’s the case the bench assignment stayed the same for both games (Texas sat where all the higher seeds sat and the games I saw all had the higher seed in home unis).

According to Craig Way on the radio, Vic was unhappy that the ball wasn't advanced, so it may have been a communication issue, or a dumbass referee issue.
I’m just not sure. I was seated near Vic and it appeared he said no to advancing but not positive. We were speculating in the stands maybe it was to burn more clock if possible

It is definitely possible Craig and the radio team were wrong about Vic's strategy. I'm just glad there was no unhappy consequence to the choice that was made.

Just a theory, mind you. If all games go accdg to seeding, we would be lower ranked for Finals - get orange jerseys for last game. Typically don't we alternate jersey colors if there are several games in a row? That would put us in a burnt orange - white - burnt orange rotation.

We have been the highest seed in both of our games so maybe we had a choice and trying to avoid laundry? I'm guessing tonight maybe we're in our "vintage" whites? Who knows???
As far as home and away teams are concerned, the scoreboard doesn't indicate that. But I can tell you that the higher seed in each tournament game has had the bench we had in both of our games.

I know about the standard move to sit players with two fouls. Booker is more disciplined than the average player and it was so hard to watch the team try to hang on without her. If she had played more in the first half, we would have built on that lead instead of letting them get within striking distance. I know the refs are cooking some fouls with UT and OU leaving but how can Lee go up over and over and not get a call. Looking forward to tonight's game on TV.

We were up by 5 when Madison was taken out with foul trouble. They got the lead up to 14 and were up 12 with 2:00 to go in the 2nd Qtr. We led by 8 at halftime. Vic made the absolute correct decision.

I didn’t like it too much either!
Need to come out on fire this second half and not be complacent. DON’T let them back in it.

I don't think they will be complacent. Adjustments and breaks are another thing. We have been pretty physical with Cooks. Are the refs going to start calling ticky tack fouls in the 2nd half ? Does Booker stay hot ? We''ve only gone 8 deep. Are we going to have enough gas to keep the pressure on ?
Getting my pop corn.
