They heard you, Babhorn!we better make FTs or this will be ugly.
Yes! And that should be enough to get us a top 4 seed, IMO. Double-double for Imani, 8 pts and 9 rbs for Brianna, and how about Celina....7 pts, 5 assists, 5 rbs and 3 steals! And can't complain about 50% from BTA and 74% from the line, esp those key FTs at the end. Now it's bear-hunting time!!I think we'll see the winner of today's matchup between the Horns and Sooners as a #4 seed. We were a 5 last season, with a tie for 3rd in the conf race, and a semifinal loss to WVU in the Big12 tourney. Entering NCAA play we were 21-11. If we win today we'll be 22-9, and have gone one step further with a tourney final berth. Our current NCAA RPI is 22nd, with the Sooners at 20th, so both sqauds are already on the cusp of being in the mix for a top 4 seed. When you factor in our big wins, inc. vs. current RPI #1 Tennessee, and the fact we avoided any of those sub-100 RPI losses, odds seem pretty good we'd up hosting those early rounds at home. In fact, our worst loss of the year was to current RPI #76. I also think it makes sense to have two Big12 squads as top 4 seeds, given the overall strength of the league (currently ranked #1 in the conference RPI ratings). And if you look at the teams just ahead (ranked 14th-19th) of the Horns in the RPI (and who we'd be competing with for that #4 spot), the SOS range is from 38th all the way down to 108th. None are even close to the Horns in terms of schedule strength. So a lot at stake in today's contest....looking forward to a great game, and a Horn victory!
Huh? I think we were an 8 seed one year as the last team in, with 18 wins and a 7th place conference finish. We were never going to be an 8 seed. We were a 5 last year with one less win, two more losses, and a conf tourney semi loss.God I hope we've done enough to bump up and out of that 8th seed regardless of this next game.
I don't ever pay attention to Creme's bracketology; he has always been off the mark when it comes to Texas, and also other Big12 programs. IIRC he had us in a similar position last season when we were a 5 seed. I just assumed it was because he was looking at different things than the NCAA selection folks. But no way with our RPI, SOS, record, conference strength, and wins vs. top teams are we anywhere near the spot he has us in. As mentioned, we were an 8 or 9 seed one year with 4 fewer wins, and a 6th of 7th place conference finish.Great win for the team and program. First Big 12 championship game appearance for Coach Aston.
Not sure what is up with Brooke these last two games; glad that Krystle and Celina stepped up their games yesterday and today.
overseas, you must not be paying attention to ESPN bracketology; they've had us as a #8/9 for the past several weeks. Now, I don't understand why, as our RPI is so much better than teams they have seeded above us. Regardless, I think we are now out of the 8/9 slot with today's win.
You can go to the big 12 twitter account and If you scroll through it she gives Texas credit.Im watching the game again. The announces have said so many times, "Texas' stifling defense". Shameful that Coale would be so arrogant to not give Texas any credit.

OU's Little was 1-10 from 3-point range. That was key. And, their PG only had 2 assists. That's not gonna get it done
