Beto Does it Again

Democrat turned Bush turd turned Democrat, Matt Dowd, flushed his "candidacy" down the toilet this week. No loss, but would have been a hoot to see him lose. Now it'll be some no name who gets whipped on by Patrick.

Hard to say. Huffines is a no name, as is the other dude running too (not West - there's a 4th character running around too).

They all need to raise money, and quickly, as the primary is 1 March 22, so what, 75 days away. West has some name recognition, so could make some waves. The other dudes only aspect is to keep Abbott below 50% so needing a runoff, keeping the GOP race still going and causing problems.

Abbott is OK as governor. He doesn't take the lead on much, and I wouldn't vote for him in an open race compared to someone better. But he signs the stuff the Legislature sends over, and calls special sessions as needed. He's not a national leader in waiting like DeSantis is, but he does an adequate job as Texas governor.

The other guy is Chad Prather who is a conservative entertainer type. I would vote for West or Huffhines over Abbott. I would vote Abbott over Francis.

Abbott is an anchor on many conservative priorities. He hasn't called a 4th special session to deal with all the things the RINOs stalled on during the other 3. Many conservatives are calling for a 4th session to vote to ban all vaccine mandates by law. But Abbott won't do it.

I'd be wary of calling Huffines a non-starter. He hits many chords for the conservative right and could serve to get some people out for the primaries who would otherwise skip it in many parts of the State.

I'm the first to admit that I often voted in the D primaries for the sake of voting against some unqualified local candidates but also because, in Travis, that was about the only place where there were really any races to make it worth bothering to vote in the first place.

I'll be in the Harris R primary since an office-mate is running for one of the judicial positions in Harris County.

The R primary, viewed Statewide, is as much a referendum on Abbott as it is anything else...I just hope that when the dust settles, they can bring the party together enough to ensure we get rid of the likes of Lina Quarantina while ensuring Beta is back to dog-catcher functions.

As of now, Abbott has a nice lead on Beta Male, and not much is going to change there, baring as above, a nasty primary fight.

That was an interesting read...I want to know how they found a few people who claimed Beta was TOO CONSERVATIVE. Are they conducting polls in the brain damage wings of medical centers now?

What a friggin self-righteous, self-important douche, and he's full of ****. He's dropping out because outside of DC, nobody knows or cares who he is.

Another turd self-flushes, as I said last year when some football player malcontent would dramatically end his UT career.

Best of all, other Democrats like the Mayor of Dallas is slamming him for making it sound like he's graciously stepping aside so some non-Honkey can win the nomination, as those po black folks couldn't possible win with a white dude in the race.

Dude is finished. He'll be lucky to be crawl back to MS-DNC. Maybe the Bush family turds will hire him to polish shoes and suck ***.

Beta should never have run for President. That was just a stupid move. Since he was running for the Democratic nomination, he had to fly his freak flag as high as he could to try to be competitive, which just put him so far outside the Texas political mainstream that he'll never be competitive statewide again. Furthermore, because he was up against other Democrats who were much bigger heavyweights than he was, the media covered him honestly and exposed him for being the shallow, dumb hack he always was. If he wins the nomination, they'll try to go back to licking his balls, but you can't just turn that on and off. The damage is done.

It's all playing with house money. The media will once again sewed to his *** - dude won't have to wipe his *** till next November or even buy toilet paper, between the Texas Tribute, Houston Comic, Austin ***, etc.

If the Republicans do something foolish like support West or the other losers that are running, and it leads to a nasty primary fight that spills into a run off, then he has a shot.

If it all crashes and burns, he'll just go back to some cushy higher education job, funded by the taxpayer, where he "teaches" some joke of a course. Good work if you can get it - you just have to be a leftist to get it.

Generally I agree. However, if he hadn't run for President, he could have kept the facade going a lot longer and mounted another race. Would he have won this time? Probably not. There's no way 2022 will be like 2018, but he could have made it close and perhaps been successful the next time Democrats are strong in a midterm election. Instead, he blew his wad on the presidential run and probably ruined his career for statewide office.

True. The real killer for Beta Male is the actual reporting that was done on him in the Pres race, when he was not the chosen one. But with the short attention span of the voter, and near total Democrat media control, expect a "more experienced, humbled, and focused on Texas candidate" spin from the suck-asses.

That was awesome how the D mayor called him out. and the whole dem establishment. He probably thought he was going to "woke of the week" trophy and then he gets hammered for it.

To win or come close, the Dems need to run a celebrity, former great athlete, or a guitar picker. One has said no already, I think.

Other than Beto, who do the Dems have to run?

(a serious candidate—someone with better than a snowball’s chance in Falfurrias)

If the Cowboys want to go to the Super Bowl, they had better hurry and get their ticket order submitted.

I marked you as funny but consider this - the LA County Health Department closes public gatherings starting around February 1 due to the rise in COVID cases so the NFL moves the Super Bowl to Arlington. The Super Bowl goes to the Cowboys...

That may be the only way Dallas sees another Super Bowl any time soon...

So Youngkin is 33% okay. Diversity and inclusion are still Cultural Marxist buzzwords. I support what he did, but he isn't going far enough. He should eliminate the position. It isn't needed and it costs the tax payers money.

Batting .333 gets professional baseball players a hefty bonus on their salary in many years.

I'd suggest giving Youngkin some time. It is a challenge to RIF a bunch of people right away. The title change allows the staff to later be merged into other State positions as the position slowly disappears across the fiscal year...

Not good enough in my opinion. Need to reduce the size and power of government. The position has negative value to the state of Virginia. If you are going to rename it, call it the Protector of Natural Rights in schools or something that isn't Cultural Marxism. Unless that is if you want 66% of schools infected with Cultural Marxism.

The point of not immediately doing it, though, is that it allows Youngkin to announce that, after X months in office and a diligent review, he has confirmed that the office did not benefit VA citizens and taxpayers.

The D and I is just another label for the EEO nonsense every agency has to contend with...and that is, I believe, where you will see those staffers moved to as they are relegated to the dustbin of Democratic stupidity and pandering.

Very nice and apt phrase
" dustbin of Democratic stupidity and pandering "
Is very useful here on HF
Hereafter referred to as "dustbin"
I am sure I will use it before day is out.

Now that I think about it Kamala is the quintessential dustbin
