Beto Does it Again

The Eastern rim of the Austin area will likely be the growth area. Much more available land. And more highways. And the airport. And the bypass superhighway thing. And the Formula 1 track, etc. etc.

Nobody mistakes them for Eanes ISD, but The Taylor Ducks aren’t in a shabby ISD either.

In 30 years there may not be much rural area between Austin and Houston.

When Columbus, Texas becomes a Houston suburb, then we'll know it's over.

Well, you look at what cities in Texas are replacing. It's the big urban centers in California - Los Angeles, San Francisco, San Diego, etc. that have grown somewhat together over the last several decades. As that state slowly and gradually commits economic and cultural suicide (through nutty policy from Democrats with no viable alternative from Republicans), urban areas in Texas, Arizona, Georgia, and other less crazy states will start to resemble those they're replacing in California.

It's a virus much worse than anything we've seen...

Sure hope we look at what has happened in the Peoples Republik of Kalifornia and take aggressive steps to prevent it from recurring elsewhere.

NOOOOOOOO!! I have known this was coming to my little town for the past 6 months or so. Heck, all the execs were at the Taylor rodeo about a month ago with the idiot mayor.

Between this and Elon's little battery factory going pretty much next door to Samsung I'm screwed. All of this is about 8 miles from my house. My taxes have more than doubled since I built the Vol Horn Executive Ranch and I fear it will double or triple again.

Anyone have any new career suggestions when I have to sell my place and move to where I can afford to live? I expect to sell for around $1.5 million or more within the next 5 years so maybe with my 401k, my wife's 401k and other things going on I can just retire.

What seats do you have at DKR-TMS in your profile pic? Very close to mine in Sec 8, row 51.

Move to Caldwell. It will be a suburb of Bryan-College Station in 20 years.

I hope so too, but keep in mind that California used to be a conservative-leaning state (though never militantly so) and made itself look more like the urban places it replaced - New York City, Philadelphia, Rust Belt, etc. It may be inevitable.

Build a Central Market in Sonora, maybe?

Just don't come to Lockhart. We are already full.

No viable alternative? What does that mean? The alternative is to start electing Republicans, but that would require accountability among the voters, and Libs don't want that.

Oklahoma has cheaper land...

Fayette County (La Grange) is pretty, with some decent changes in elevation in places. It's far enough from the Austin-San Antonio corridor to not get filled in and over-developed for decades (at least). It's a bit over an hour to Austin, and a bit over 2 1/2 hours to Houston. Still some German/Czech restaurants around those parts, and plenty of local non-generic flavor to the place. The school district isn't exactly Eanes or Carroll academically, but they've played some good football down there.

There were some highly-publicized incidents of local government corruption decades ago. But stuff like that has happened all over this State. Duval County it is not.

Well, they haven't really done much to appeal to their electorate. Californians aren't going to vote for "Trumpy" candidates or candidates associated with the national party. It's just not going to happen.

That's also true in states like Massachusetts, Maryland, Maine, and to a lesser extent, Virginia. However, in those states, the party has been able to pitch candidates who have been able to at least brand themselves differently allowing them to take advantage of issues on which the Democrats have been out of touch and win statewide. But the California GOP hasn't followed that approach, so most voters don't even listen to them. When they had a chance to oust their incompetent goober of a governor, instead of going with a Younkin-like or Charlie Baker-like candidate, they went with Larry Elder. It was a joke.

The bigger joke in California is that the media attacked Larry Elder as a black white supremacist. The political machine tried to deny him as a candidate based on lies and tricks. That is a joke. Not that the California Republicans put forth Elder. There were other options too that Californians could have voted for instead of Newsome. They weren't as outspoken or "conservative" as Elder. But Californians didn't vote for them either. They voted to enslave themselves to Newsome and Democrats. The best thing that can happen now is that the state continues to descend into 3rd world reality. Anyone with a conservative mentality hopefully will move out to a conservative state and help it keep the Mao-ist woke revolution at bay.

Maybe in 75 years. There's too much land between Austin and Houston. Now Austin to Bastrop, Manor and Elgin? Yeah you're probably right.

I don't know about that. Frisco is a thriving suburb, but when I was a kid in the '80s, it was nothing but a gas station and illegal brothels and titty bars.

If you're going to demand an assclown or a Democrat, they'll elect a Democrat. But I'm sure the ideologues felt very righteous when they got cock-slapped in an election that we could have won or at least threatened.

Facilities have to be built somewhere, sorry for those it affects. But, not producing enough chips in the US is a huge reason why we are having supply issues right now.

You think Larry Elder is an assclown? Everything I have heard him say was pretty spot on average conservative speak.

As a talk show host, he's fine. As a gubernatorial candidate, he's an assclown. You can't win in a blue state when you're that unserious.
