Good morning my little pretties...
Ok, you bunch of crazies, you have infiltrated my relationship with my wife. She is now fully aware of your presence and that you have my ear.
WTF right?
So we spent last night and a bit this morning over coffee talking Ivermectin. We've Googled all sorts of things: Why would a doctor prescribe Ivermectin to a human. The answer seems to be universally related to parasitic worms. Then we Googled should a doctor prescribe Ivermectin for Covid. All sorts of "No's" on that one and even some mention of it being an unethical thing to do. But it's NOT RECOMMENDED by the FDA. Not prohibited. My wife's doctor knew for a fact that she requested Ivermectin to treat Covid, the doctor prescribed and People's Pharmacy filled the prescription.
The question is this: What is it about Ivermectin that makes you think it works (the science not anecdotal evidence) against a virus?
Note that Paxlovid seems to be recommended only for those who are at risk of a severe reaction to Covid, meaning someone like me. In theory, based upon what we read, my wife possibly might have chosen not to take anything and just ride it out, of course, masking, distancing etc.
An interesting is this: A PCR test (the one from a pharmacy) that takes at least 24 hours to get the result can yield a positive test even though you are no longer contagious due to residual elements of the virus. The antigen test (result available in 15 minutes) is the one that can clear you because it can detect evidence of live contagious virus activity in the body. So we're now going to rely on the antigen test and not the PCR to determine if it's safe for me to make out with her.
Just sharing what I "know."
My wife sent me this:
Coronavirus COVID-19 (SARS-CoV-2) | Johns Hopkins ABX Guide
I can't get my "Snip" to work but scroll way down and you'll see they do not recommend Ivermectin or Hydroxychloroquine.
