Beard arrested?

The state can pursue the charges without the complainant filing charges. I dont see Beard back this year.

The magistrate said a protective order was entered. That's not a good sign, although it might have been issued at the request of the DA's office and not the alleged victim. Knowing how UT is about these things, I think its probably a good bet Beard won't survive this. What a really sad thing to happen - not only for everyone involved, but also for all of us fans who really support these programs. I think bystander above said it best: Sometimes, you just have to "remove yourself from the situation" and "just get out of there".

Pretty sure he tried to do that, after she assaulted him by slapping him so hard his glasses broke so they couldn't be used anymore he went to guest room. She then later followed him in there. Why isn't she being charged for assault? Hate these stupid *** laws in US.

Where did you hear that description of what happened?

If she broke his glasses and he tried to get away by going to guest room . If she followed and banged on the door maybe that is what is on the audio?

Maybe a good lawyer could get it plead to A or B Misdemeanor. Either way he is gone. The description on the report is a Family Violence and a 3rd degree Felony.Officers had no choice except to arrest. When the Family Violence Law came into being it changed the way officers had to handle domestic disturbances, making officers more liable if no action was taken.

His girlfriend. She said they had been fighting and she took his eyeglasses and broke them. Then he slapped her glasses off her face and started beating her and choking her. He's over. He's gone. Our season is done.
