Beard arrested?

Maybe he had to tune up a future son-n-law? Speculation at best .. grasping for hope really .. because I don't see a good ending for him regardless

Career endear at UT possibly. If so, one of our rivals will hire him in 18 months. If you fire Beard, does that mean Arterio Morris gets his ship pulled too?

Well, now, unfortunately it seems we have a pattern. Someone's going to be made an example of. I can't imagine the bags at UT are going to idle by with the wheels on the wagon shaking so violently. Sadly, this has voluntary resignation written all over it.

It’s international news. And the incident will obviously stay in the news. Our downfall pleases not only our competitors but the many who despise the state of Texas. This story will perfectly dovetail with the dangerous, redneck-state stereotype.
 
Well of course, our basketball team finally makes its way to the top 10 (early season, at least) and this happens. Honestly, is there a curse on this program?

Oh yes, one of my old high school classmates who regularly shoots pics at Tceh football and basketball games is broadcasting the story on Facebook and is looking forward to the game on Feb. 13.

"The student body will be in a shark feeding frenzy yelling at him about this incident. I can just see half the student body in orange jump suits with prison numbers yelling, "Lock him up!" when he enters the USA."

(the "USA" being the United Supermarkets Arena, in case you didn't know)

Tech fans won't get a chance to berate Beard in Lubuttock if the charges hold up.

He'll never set foot on another court for Texas.

I'm pretty sure Perry made the same proclamation about Erik Maund. But we'll see, gosh dang I hope he is innocent.

This is the first 50% required for Beard to survive this. Now for the 2nd 50%, we will see.
 
There were rumblings about this in Lubbock before the hire. I think most were just hoping that it was exaggerated.

I call BS on this. My son went to Tech when Beard was there and even worked for the athletic dept. and he said he was totally surprised and taken aback by the arrest.

It certainly wouldn't surprise me if the APD went way overboard, but I doubt it got this far without some degree of fault from Beard. What else is a defense attorney going to say?
 
Y'all tap the brakes on the "he is done" talk. It's way too early to go that route. In fact, I predict he was justified in his actions and will be exonerated. We will see but it's too early to shove him out the door.

That is the unequivocal denial that was need to get the ball rolling towards complete exoneration. As mchammer said, the next shoe must drop.

There will always be cynicism about this. White coach. Tarrytown. $35 million contract. Huge money spent on new arena. Family members coming to their senses that the golden goose is about to get cooked.

We'll see.

I was born and raised in Lubbock. Luckily my parents moved us to Westlake in 1970..my sophomore year in high school. I’ll never step foot in that city again. The average longhorn has no idea how closed minded they are. I went back for 7 months very recently to finalize family affairs and it was the worst waste of my adult life.
 
Why the hell can't people take an extra minute and proofread their tweets or posts? Or edit it once you see you made a mistake? "Chocked"? And you want us to take you seriously? Somehow people think that, on social media, correct spelling and punctuation are not important. I disagree.

You still only know her side of the story. For all we know, she could have been whaling on him and he had finally had enough. Sadly, we live in a world where women have been so insulated from any negative consequences of their actions, some of them think they can do anything to a man and he is just supposed to take it. Mostly, they are right, but we need to wait and see and get the whole story. I find it very hard to believe CB just jumped up and choked her with no provocation.
 
I was once accused of some truly heinous (the worst imaginable) behavior...totally fabricated. I'll hold judgement until more is known. I certainly hope it is false for more than 1 reason.
