Baylor at Texas

You know I get being frustrated with players at times, but if you are a true fan of this program, WHY is it necessary to make such negative attacks against the CG sisters (above)? After a hard fought loss, I just don't think that is appropriate. Regardless of your impressions about these young ladies, they play as hard as anyone. That was really unnecessary.
Who has attacked them? Both myself and car have said we love their effort, hard work, great attitude and are great young ladies. We love everything about them but they just simply don't have the athleticism to compete with the best in women's college BB. They simply are not the Nash sisters.

I love the way Iowa State plays FB too, but they will never compete for a B12 championship without a major upgrade in talent.

YOU attacked them by making a ridiculous comment "they look like crippled giraffes". I can see you saying they aren't that athletic, you love their hard work, etc., but to make a statement like that is CLASSLESS!!!!! Did you ever stop to think that we NEED them THIS year. Do you honestly think that encourages them by making such negative comments. I'm fine with you saying they aren't that athletic, but your comments hit below the belt.

People have said much worse to me about my BB skills and it doesn't bother me one bit. I actually like it as it motivates me just that much more. I have never attacked a players character (well except for OU :ousucks:) and I never will. I think the CG sisters are awesome and great young ladies.

True enough, we took one in the loss column and that sucks... especially when we let it slip away from us. But we won BIG TIME psychologically. Baylor is no longer the team we can't beat nor are they the team we have to measure up to... And they know it. As with the game in Waco, KM didn't talk to the media at halftime. Only after she saw McCarty's last-second three pointer rattle off and realized she'd eeked one out did she have anything to say. Can't wait to play them again!

She talked but did she say anything about the way Texas affected their performance.....NO!

Most coaches point out players of their team that were off or MIA and how it impacted the results, but never consider what the outcome could have changed if one of the oppents players were MIA....(Lang, Holmes, Caron) or the 4 that fouled out vs OU....Guess those MIA's did not alter the game!

The players played poorly in the 4th quarter throwing up (wasted) shots. They held onto the ball way too long and suddenly and to fling it up with 3-5 seconds left on the shot clock. BUT, they played their hearts out. They gave all their effort - which showed with Brooke's last second shot. After that buzzer, a few sank down on their hands in knees on the court, hurting from the loss. Sure AC-G fouls like crazy, but she's trying her best to do her job. We've beaten them once and lost to them once. We'll see them again in the B12 tournament. So hats off to the ladies for playing hard and trying to the very end.

Unfortunate game. Still, have to love the final few seconds. One of Brooke's 3's go in there and this is totally different. But I guess it never should've had to come to that either.

Joyner is a great player and brings tremendous energy (and playing next to Cox makes people who thought Cox was better just look silly). BUT, she has some consistency issues. I'm fine with that (as she's a freshman), but if she can learn to be a bit more disciplined with her outside shot and then work on attacking just a little bit more, I think she's a NPOY type player eventually.

But there's NO DOUBT, the trajectory of this team is UP UP UP UP UP!

I've said before that if our coaches didn't allow Joyner to shoot anything but layups, her FG percentage would be higher, and she'd probably get other post players into foul trouble. But, that doesn't help he develop her perimeter game (which has improved over the last several weeks).

Last night, her perimeter shot wasn't falling. But, she kept shooting. Not sure that was the proper way to go. I felt our coaches should have found ways to get her near the basket and score those layups. Hard to believe we couldn't get that to be successful once in the second half. Maybe BU's defense stopped it. Maybe not having Kelsey in the game made it harder for Joyner to get down low. All I know is that the team/coaches needed to try something different to get Joyner back in the offensive flow of the game in the second half, especially the fourth quarter. I never felt like the coaches tried anything different for Joyner in the second half.

I have to believe that recruits and their parents were watching the 2 coaches last night. One was crazy............. and wouldn't give any credit......... and felt it was all about them. And one smiled a lot after the flurry ended with the last miss. In my fair and biased opinion, I would certainly like to play for Aston more than Mulkey. So for Alyssa S who was there.........I hope that plays into her final decision on destination. And others that were watching nationally. I love where this program is now. We have pulled even. Baylor won last night but the days of domination are over. I kinda like the dynamics with Mulkey. It makes the games more intense ..............and yes........the losses hurt more. Anybody else couldn't sleep last night? Even sweeter when we pass them bye VERY SOON! Hook Em Ladies !

Not released yet, but it was commented on that we would NOT be sent to CT for a 3rd/4th year in a row...
That was simply one or two folks' opinions, neither of who is on the NCAA selection committee.

And, two years ago, we were the #5 seed in UConn's region, so upsetting #4 Cal is what advanced us to play UConn. We weren't a top 16 seed that year. So, we really were only seeded in the Top 16 with UConn in 2016.

@flash34 I actually think it goes over MUCH better with players than with us fans or opposing coaches. As stated by DD Richards. Kids see her and see the passion that she coaches with. They see her giving it everything she has. To us (because we are the opposition) we see it as unnecessary histrionics, but players see fire and intensity. Had BU not been so scandal ridden and just a generally unsafe environment for female student athletes, I don't think I would have a problem with my kid going to play for her because I know she will coach and develop them to be the best version of them self on the court.

That being said, her off the court demeanor and the trash that comes out of her mouth certainly are things I could do without.

Unfortunately I was rewatching the game I have a officiating question? I thought if u had the bonus u got free throws ? Correct or depends on the situation?

Unless I missed it, there is no news yet on Jones knee injury. The injury to Jones could be critical in tight games later. I wonder if she has been dealing with her knee for some time now. I was shocked she was scoreless in,the first half of the first game. She has had some other recent games where her stat line has been puzzling. If she is limited or out that could play into several games....OU, 3RD game with UT, NCAA. I assume that Kelsey's eye will heal quickly but a knee for Jones ??

Man...Thank you so much for saying that!! I try to make that point alot. I say if you wanna criticize our Coach/ladies do it somewhere else.

According to several sources...........Lang is listed as either day to day...........or probable for the Friday, Iowa State game. Good news there.
