Coming soon... Throwback Saturday, where the Longhorn Band will don the 1920 bellhop uniforms and march from the Driscoll Hotel to the stadium before the game (after helping some customers with their bags of course...)."I DON'T LIKE CHAAAAANGE WE NEED TO KEEP THE BELLHOP UNIFORMS WITH THE FEZ!!!!!!"
- The ancestors of those that defend our current uniforms
We changed 'em once, we can change 'em again. It's long past time for an update.
Be careful what you ask for. I've noticed that most of the high school bands are now sporting DCI-styled unis."I DON'T LIKE CHAAAAANGE WE NEED TO KEEP THE BELLHOP UNIFORMS WITH THE FEZ!!!!!!"

If LHB followed suit, they could be wearing something like
(with burnt orange instead of green, of course)
or
(I love those throwback pith helmets)
or
I love DCI, and have been to a couple of their roadshow competitions. But I don't think that the DCI uni is a good match for the LHB.
All of those would be an improvement.Be careful what you ask for. I've noticed that most of the high school bands are now sporting DCI-styled unis.

That could work. But it would have to retain the western fringe on the shoulders, and perhaps the zig-zag stripe on the trousers.A burnt orange version of something like the Cavaliers uniform (green one, top photo), with our current hats, would be badass.
No, no, no, goodness, for heaven's sake, no.That could work. But it would have to retain the western fringe on the shoulders, and perhaps the zig-zag stripe on the trousers.
I wasn't dissing the Purdue band uniforms; I just didn't think that would be a good look for Texas.I kind of like the Purdue and tOhio State band unis.... I llike the spats FWIW.
And Wabash CannonballIt ain't a fashion show. They ain't there to be purty; they are there to play Texas Fight. The Eyes of Texas, March Grandioso, and give me time to go pee and visit the concession stand between the second and third quarters.
Just for you, WorsterMan: watch for it at 1:57 in this videoAnd half way through playing March Grandioso, stop suddenly and in unison yell loudly: BEAT THE HELL OUTTA ou!!!
I must say, that's a pretty cool origin storyI still like why they play Wabash Cannonball
and at KSU fans who thought the band was playing it for them.
Actually the reason KSU has it as a fave in an interesting story too
Whatever KSU's story on Wabash Cannonball is, they have nothing to compare with the routine on this song performed by our pom squad / chaps girls!I still like why they play Wabash Cannonball

I agree. The football uniforms should be unique too, something like this:Just like there is only one Longhorn mascot ( think how many Tigers , Eagles etc) and only one school with Burnt Orange as color ( think how many have marroon blue or green) Shouldn't the band uniforms stay unique?
I'd have a hard time thinking of a college band uniform I like less. Maybe Tech.Ajo
You do not like the band unis?
