I wanted to chime in on the "Mack is cheating," angle. I had a buddy (an Ag) this summer send me an email about how the whole deal was going down. He mentioned specifically that Cedric Benson was driving a new Escalade and B.J. was driving a Lexus.

I think it was probably half true. Both were probably seen driving over the summer.

You probably missed something in the story. As stupid as the story sounds to begin with -- and they all sound like 2nd graders fibbing about a guy on the playground who claimed the 6 million dollar man could kick Superman's *** -- there is usually some outrageously idiotic detail in the story that gives it away as false.

Most people don't care enuogh to listen to the whole story, and just yell "Shut the **** up and fill' er up with Premium Unleaded."

Cedric Benson signed a lucrative pro baseball contract last summer. BJ Johnson is from a rather nice Dallas suburb(Grand Prarie) and his father i believe runs a radio show. assuming what your ag friend said was true, it really doesn't seem that odd or suggest "cheating" occured.

Good grief. I understand that Burton prefers a hands off approach to the Rivals forums, but I simply cannot understand how he can stomach being associated with EllenZ. That guy is a complete bonehead.
 
I would like to see a timeline of the whole recruiting year, with quotes from Ags to go along with major recruiting milestones. I think I would pay for it. I want it bad.

You know, something like:

June 17th (or whenever): Reggie commits - "Hell yeah, Mack and his snake oil. F him!"

January 10 - "Reggie had no D1 talent on his team" - Alanz
January 11 - "Ju Parks is a great talent, and is being pursued by several big time schools." - Alanz

Yes, I realize that these are not quotes, but it would be nice to see one little synopsis over the whole A&M process. I'm sorry if you feel it was unethical of me to put phrases in quotes that are not quotes.

Maybe you could put in a book form. Any title suggestions? My title suggestion -- Several Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest

coach- there are FAR too many too keep with. it is very funny. the Ju Parks thing was great. after that ridiculous comment(where alanz said Lufkin had no other D1 prospects and Reggie was the only reason they went anywhere in the playoffs), i did a post about it on the-university.com. Geoff said that was complete ********. the NEXT morning Ju Parks commits to aTm and alanz is scrambling. to save face, the idiot(alanz) makes it worse by saying Parks had bad grades and that's why he didn't consider him a D1 prospect. that's a beauty. saying a commitment has bad grades the DAY he commits to aTm to try and cover your ***. that's pretty pathetic.

the whole Bob Morton incident was terrible. everyone is familiar w/ this. i really wish that kid was coming to TX. i'm sure that family absolutely HATES aTm.

Aaaron_Harris_fan,hoping he'll see his handle and want to go to aTm.

Vincent Young is a WR who will go to Miami.

Cody Douglass going on their board and lamenting them after he decommitted.

alanz claiming they had two decommitments when they obviously had four(Morton, Douglass, Runnels, Brown), and claiming Sonny Davis decommitted.

there are far too many examples.

I think the Ags are up to 7 decommits and counting:Darrin Johnson- Ags stole from SMU. Just de-committed from Ags back to SMU. Ag coaches going in to try to get him backMichael Brisco - de-committed from Ags to go to Texas Tech. Websider claims "not a done deal", Ags still fighting.
Dervin Davis - Decommitted because of grades, purportedly, I think
Cody Douglas - Decommitted because he had "more options" -- i.e., got other offers. He loved us and, IMO, we should have offered him. But we already landed some major studs. I think Cody's brother (or maybe Cody) got on to explain that Cody didn't want to go to A&M anymore and had a whole different list of schools (all more bigtime, of course).
Bob Morton - Decommitted from them and went to Notre Dame. After de-commit, the Ags insulted him on their board, and Bob Morton's mother hilariously logged on and tore them a new one. Smart kid and parents, too, so they ran mental circles around the Aggie attackers. That was all the subject of a comedic newspaper article, actually.
JD Runnels - Ag RB commit that OU offered and he jumped in about 2 seconds.
Eddie Brown - JUCO commit that probably had academic problems.
 
now Beagnyum is also visiting and is a potential decommit(i'm guessing yes). the rumors on McNeal appear to be false, but that would be hillarious if he visited Arkansas.

what was w/ the Leone "tough game of pool with RC" comments? is he now looking around?

i've never seen an exodus like this before. what the hell is going on over there? i'm almost feeling sorry for them. well, no, actually it's somewhat enjoyable to watch. i love their commentary on it as well.

I think the story on Leone was that Ags were thinking of going with Wilie Andrews, then backed off and decided to "stick with" Leone, or something like that. I.e., spin-aside, Leone probably almost bolted somewhere, like Tulsa or something, and they talked him into staying.
 
i love how Andrews has visits set up to UCLA and ND, but aTm has "backed off". tying this to Leone makes no sense. Andrews is a CB. Leone is a S.

i love the spin job on Beagnyum. now, he's just "going to visit the Northeast". yeah, nothing to worry about. lots of firm commits visit 3 weeks until signing day. "Boston is beautiful this time of the year" however.

it's fun watching them explain some of these things.

Evidently Courtney Lewis was the glue that held the Madison team together and not this Vincent Young kid. Odd timing on that news now that the aggies have spotlighted Lewis on their ever dwindling RB recruiting list! aggie chat is just as funny as their message boards!
 
I think they had their real chat over an hour ago -- between 8 and 9 you guys time, I think.

I actually tried to jump in, for the first time in forever, but AlanZ was just leaving, so I bolted. It just ain't the same without AZ.

They spent a while dissecting their teams problems and coming away with the conclusion that it will all be solved...trust RC!
Then they lamented the losses of certain players and calls of "if they don't have the heart to be aggies..." came and that pretty much ended that.
Then and I believe still they are talking about the various prospects that they are going to steal away from other schools (Vickers, McDaniel, etc) that will make them a top 5 team!

Not much else...pretty boring so far with cover2 doing most of the inane babbling. WinAgs chimes in from time to time with some incoherent mumbling and the rest just agreeing with what is said. Typical aggie stuff so far. Need zepeda and some of the really deluded to get in there before it starts getting funny!
